    1. Work Hard. This really needs no explaining. It's simply the most fundamental rule of business: without hard work, you will fail.
    2. KEEP RECORDS. This is extremely important. The biggest purpose they serve is giving you an idea of where you stand, how much you're profiting, if you're even profiting at all, and a lot more, including a basis for planning. And they'll help when Uncle Sam comes to take your money, too.
    3. Keep overhead low, especially at the beginning. If you do this, you have more money to spend on the absolute necessities. BE FRUGAL!
    4. Negotiate every price as low as possible...this goes hand in hand with keeping overhead low. With the amount of money you save on each negotiated deal, you could be saving thousands each month and not even realize it.
    5. Maintain relationships with possible future clients. This means performing favors when necessary. In turn, they may just perform favors for you...It's all in who you know.

Make sure you get everything in writing - don't rely on instant messaging or phone calls.

Sure it may work for years but sooner or later one low-life is going to catch you and you'll pay for your mistake/trust.

    I speak from experience. :/

    1. Never trust anyone!
    2. Always have a backup plan. If I don't get this account can I use someone else. If the printing isn't on time can someone else get it to me ASAP etc...
    3. Make lots of business friends in lots of industries, you never know when they can help.

A wise man once said to me "A business is only as good as the systems that it has in place". A well run business is half the way there.

If you are offering a service. Make sure you ask for a deposit upfront..

I learnt that one early. :)

You get what you pay for, and you should charge for everything you give. Don't give a single second of your time away for free.

What you believe is what you get

Or what's in your mind so is in your environment.

Everything else - just consequences of this law.

I have a seperate bank account for all of my monthy income online. Good way of keeping track of all the money and exactly how much you are spending on advertising/marketing and investments. I would advise everyone to do so.
