Ray William Johnson - Banned from YouTube.

    Hey guys.

I bet most of you who are on YouTube knows about Ray William Johnson since he's one of the
most subscribed partners of YouTube. The channel that was banned is his main channel where
he does his "Equals Three" (=3) videos.

This is a clear proof that Google doesn't treat people different just because they
bring in a lot of money to them. Though since I don't know what he did wrong I
can't say that he's guilty of whatever got him banned, and maybe he will get his
account back someday, who knows. But I still think the YouTube team didn't just
ban him without a good reason.

Here's his banned YouTube account: RayWilliamJohnson.
Saying "This account has been terminated due to repeated or severe violations of our Community Guidelines and/or claims of copyright infringement."

According to his twitter account, the last video he uploaded was: First Kiss.
Which is now marked as breaking the YouTube Guidelines. (Don't know if this was the only reason though).

Anyways, just thought I'd share this with ya'll. =)
    Have a great day.

Yeh lol, I guess they didn't want to lose the potential money..
I guess my first statement about Google might have been wrong then.

It would only be true if you think he SHOULD have been banned but wasn't.

Well, I don't know the reason for the ban, but I would guess that it would have something to do with
him using everyone elses videos in his own ones. I bet that most videos that he uses does not comply with the
    copyright protection laws.

I also think that if it was a new user of YouTube that got banned they wouldn't reverse the ban.
But that's only based on my experience with Google and may not be true in all cases.

If it's just clips, it would fall under "fair use"... same way news stations can do it.

Well, he uses their whole videos and makes fun of them.
He also makes money from it with Google AdSense.

Another user named "Tobuscus" (Toby Turner) which is very well know has 2/3 copyright
infrigments which he has gotten the same way, by including other peoples videos in his own.
When he reaches 3 copyright claims he's going to get banned.

I found this link about fair use from YouTubes website.
    http://www.google.com/support/youtube/bin/answer.py?answer=83753&hl=en-US

They also say: "Don't upload videos you didn't make, or use content in your videos that someone else owns the copyright to, such as music tracks, snippets of copyrighted programs, or videos made by other users, without necessary authorizations."

All content that is uploaded on the internet is protected by copyright laws if not otherwise instructed.
Even if "fair use" is allowed to some extent I think that Ray took it too far. Though, only a judge can
decide that since many factors have to be taken in to account.
