If have got the project through some good bidding website then ask client to deposit the money on Escrow. But your have to execute the project as per the client direction. Otherwise don't proceed for the project.

You'll also need a contract. Never provide services without a contract.

Outsourcing is absolutely legit, but like has been mentioned you will most likely run into scammers at some point. Do your due diligence research and do what you can to protect yourself (contract, escrow, whatever you can). Good luck!

Outsourcing is a very legitimate business. One of the best ways to work with someone for the first time is to get a job through an agency. Then the buyer can put the money in an escrow account and you can feel sure the money will be released when the job is done. If you don't want to use a service, there are legitimate escrow companies that will hold the money until the job is done.

I have hired outsourced workers before and I would say that he should at least pay you SOME money up front and the rest on completion. Some people thing that just because you outsource the work that you don't have to treat the employees fairly. You should get 30% up front and the rest when you are done. If not, try getting work through an outsourcing website that can help you with collecting payment.

I'd develop a payment policy for your business and stick with it. If the client doesn't agree to it then don't take the work.

The thing with outsourcing is, sometimes the original buyer is unaware of the outsourcing situation. Make sure the user has good standing on the site or forum you are on first.

Be weary of client who will only pay you at the end of a project. You need to use a freelancing website like oDesk or Freelancer.com and request the client put money into an escrow account BEFORE you start working on a project.

Yes, after your research on the person/company, get a contract made that both of you agree on which should include a security deposit and, when there are signatures on the contract, then get the security deposit to start the work. Your time and efforts are worth money. Make them show their commitment to the project.

Signatures on a contract do not mean anything, unless you have the time and money to take that person to court, if they do not stick to their end of the deal. You best option is to use escrow. If the client is unwilling to use escrow, there is a BIG chance they will not pay.

Tell him to put the funds into an escrow. I know sites like scriptlance.com offer this escrow service for free. Then, once the project is done he just releases the escrow to you.

I would ask for an upfront payment, maybe 20%. Have him put the money in escrow if it's a bidding site like sisatel said.

You have to do some background check for the person that you will be working for. For payment arrangement, use escrow!
