Fun Hobby Into Full-time Income. If you could...

Turning a fun hobby (websites, Internet, etc.) into full-time income. If you had several months and could 'start over', what would you do first?

    1) Start with one site and do a really good job(??).

    Issues:
-Building quality traffic requires hard work, why not have 2, 3, 4, 5 sites (a network?) and gain from 'cross-traffic' among the sites??
-One good site might not 'take off', but 5 original, quality sites have a great chance.

    2) Count on Adsense for income.

Issues (too many to list them all)
-Google is "an out of control mess", needs better competition, bans innocent publishers, pays a low percentage, and gives really low quality search results compared to 5 years ago.

    3) Plan on other sources of income.

-Anyone want to post their 'top 3 or 5' alternatives to Adsense, and why they like them?

    4) Too many original, fun, creative ideas.

    Issues:

Preparing a site takes focus and planning. How do you evaluate 25-50 original ideas, without sharing them with people who could 'easily steal them all'?

Note: We don't need a big debate about Google. I don't respect them, and that will not change any time soon.

Any good advice would be nice.
    Than you very much,
    MGH

    Well,
You and I seemed to be gifted and cursed.
Most webmasters cry for unique ideas, you and I are overburdened with the,
I think the key to weeding them out, is to make a List.
    1. Yes
    2. Later
    3. Most Likely Not

Whatever goes into the yes pile needs top priority.
Hire a developper and get it done immediately.
Make sure only sites that will make profit within a month go into the YES pile, the others go into the later pile until you get some money and time

    Think Offline

I love anime, so I started selling anime toys. On a good month I make $4000 selling only on some conventions. On bad months I get like $500 but if I had the capital to rent a good store I could easily make 10k-30k wholesaling and retailing.

    It's becoming increasingly popular.

Last convention there were 3000 persons and I'm expecting 2 more events like that before the end of the year. Not bad for a country with only 15 million people.
