Traffic from Digg

Quite interesting, I will focus on writing diggable relevant articles

 

The best way it would seem to get to the front page on digg.com is to flame Wii, PS3, Mac... And this weeks topic... Windows Vista...

I swear I have seen the same article regarding the new Windows Vista boot up sound about 3 times now and each time its made it to the front page haha.

 

Digg will eat bandwidth.Thats all.

again, just because digg traffic doesn't convert doesn't mean it isn't worth anything

It is first prelaunch, and it will then become viral. Mike Filsaime explain that in his Butterfly Manuscript.

What about squidoo and allthese free templates and free sites and blog templates websites.

For example, his last ebook is becoming viral. I've even seen yaro promoting it.

I know of some people doing pretty good with digg.

I have a few Macs, and the worst part of the whole deal - even worse than the obscene pricing - is being considered an apple weenie. I don't think I'll ever understand why some people are so sensitive about brand affinity.

 

Yes, I was just being grumpy.

It does build awareness of a tech product or website, even if no one goes. Just having it mentioned is enough for branding.

 

To get your article on Digg, I think the formula is fun, sexy, pop, or controversial. Don't forget about other bookmark sites, though. If you write something people want to share, they're going to share it on other social bookmarking sites. If stuff is nice and viral, you'll get a lot of hits, especially if that one right person reads it and likes it.

I put a few stories on digg and only had a few hits and like 2 digs and maby 30 hits, then I placed some story relating to gamers on their and this was the traffic spike I recieved -



but yes the traffic does suck, the people dont click ads at all I made probly 10 bucks from all this traffic,

most of my traffic came from digg eg the first 8000 u/v then all these forums posted about my link then their was liek a massive spider web of smaller forums all posting my link...

I had a gamer based text link on the bottom of my add I am yet to see the results...

 

Digg has been focused to "man's toys" nowadays also called as gadgets so people are mostly active digging into Technology submissions where topics regarding Apple, Nintendo, Mac, etc would work the best.

Though, I've been submitting business articles and have gathered couple of duggs too, it still depends on the quality of content and the more you submit them, the more you'll get the traffic you wanted.

 

I got no traffic from using digg but i have not given up i will surely try again.

 

I would say the only way you will get some serious traffic from Digg is if you get on the front page. Other than that Digg is just a good way of getting some backlinks and starting up some discussion of your blog/website.

 

some said that it depends on time to get lots of traffic in Digg... Is this true?
