    Hi i want to build a site like www.tutor.com, can i build it with moodle or there is any other better option please advice me guys i need to build it fast.

    But how do i implement these features

    1. Teachers and students will have profile pages.
    2. When a student selects a teacher and enrolls under him the teacher will be notified.
    3. Most importantly student will be notified of their progress on the profile each time they log in...

    Moodle would be the best option for the teacher - student interaction. You would need a website to work with a Moodle system to get the best search engine listings.

    Moodle works on its own and you would just link to it from your website. I would recommend Joomla, WP is best for blogs and not multi media/functional websites, Joomla will allow you to have all of the functionality of that site, you then need a Moodle install and configure it to your requirements.

    This is a lot of work, I would suggest you do your reading on Moodle and Joomla, if you have knowledge prior to starting this project it will come together faster and you will have a better product at the end.
