Join the Mao club . Only a lobotomized fool believes that religion is poison to reason . As a Christian I believe it's an insult to God not to use the intelligence I've been given .

Imagine that you program a brilliant AI and give it a fully functional lab so that it can perform research , then you find out that the AI is busy making spitballs and buggers . How would you feel about your creation ?

So how come that you became a Christian if you have intelligence?

god is not a reality, just a comforting idea in your mind, an emotional crutch, kind of wishful thinking. but I love this idea. you can't be something believe into nothing. and in this world you can't rely on anything but this idea. that's it.

I like the moral code , makes it easier to socialize , not bad for business either . I also like the Jesus guy , it gets me thinking out of the box . Plus I'm Orthodox so i can have a drink with the priest and not worry about the kids .

The only disadvantage is rule #7 , but that's life you win some , you lose some .

I'm so sorry for you that your life has no meaning or purpose without making up a god. Mine has always had plenty of meaning and purpose, and I don't have to make believe that there's a god.

Because of atheism? Of course not - atheism isn't motivational. Sharia is beautiful, stoning women to death for the horrific crime of leaving their houses not accompanied by a man? THAT'S motivated by religion. Atheism never motivated anyone - to do anything good or bad. For a good person to do something good is normal. For a bad person to do something bad is normal. But for a good person to do something bad you need religion as a motivator.

This is what religion does for you? It makes you turn "Don't worry we were lead by wise atheist for half a century . Just like the entire Eastern Block hence the difference between western and eastern Europe ." into "I would like to take this opportunity to inform the world that I have a micropenis ."? You, sir, have a micro sense of ethics. At best.

Spend much time watching tornadoes turning junkyards into 747s? The blind watchmaker argument was defeated before the Spanish American war.

That's true for most people, but about 10% of the human species has no need for that particular kind of "comfort". We don't find it any more comforting than believing in the child's make-believe friend. It's fine for the child, but not for us.

You mean bashing babies against rocks? Taking your defeated enemy's female children as concubines? Forcing a rape victim to spend the rest of her life married to her rapist?

That "moral" code (which civilized people consider disgusting)?

If you like socializing with that sort of person.

There it is - belief for fun and profit. If you want it even better for business become a preacher and get on TV. Do you really think a real god is that easy to fool?

If Christians really like some ancient Jewish guy, how come they kill so many of his fellow Jews?

If you want to be a theist, Wicca is a lot more sane than the Biblical religions.

Woah woah woah dude, slow down. You posted like 23938 times in a row. This is a religious crap-fighting thread, not a spam thread.

It all should be in one post.

I would probably if you believed in a non intervention God like the deistic view of God, but you don't. You believe in a God, that goes completely against that. A lot of the things in the bible are completely incompatible with Science. Even a lot of the views that Christians hold today, go completely against Jesus's message. Jesus is a character I really respect by the way, whether he was based off of a real person or was made up.

Sure.........! No doubt there are so many signs of believing God (Almighty Lord, Allah).
We can just look to this beautiful world that He create.
Look at yourself....... He create you so beautiful with complete body parts.

Signs of believing? Sure. Signs of any real god? Not one. And the fact that people believe something isn't evidence that it's true. (If it were, where's the chariot the sun god uses to carry the sun across the sky?)
There's a name for that fallacy. I'll leave you with the fun of searching for it yourself.
Parts that get destroyed by uric acid crystals that that same "beautiful body" creates. A spine "designed" to be held horizontally, and that starts disintegrating after 30 years or so. A genetic code with no error correction, so we get cancer.

If we're designed by your god, he's omni-incompetent.

I do, yet I am not religious in an organized sense like attending church or belonging to any religion other than my own belief system.
