    Hi all,

I have been searching for a free forum softwares for months now..

And I have finally decided to use Vanilla! its just AWESOME.

It does not have all the features of phpbb or smf, but what it offers is way beyond the short comings of it.

I wanted like 20 more features on it.. that smf and phpbb can offer me.

But in the end... I just dont care about them coz Vanilla is such a super forum software.

You guys should check it out here

    www.getvanilla.com

And no I am in no way related to Vanilla!

    Cheers

lol, its elegant and its beautiful and feels damn good and most users (in my case) would be happy with it. I know in your case you would need tons of features and stuff.. but i can live without em :D

Ah, I'm in love again! lol sounds corny but finding stuff like makes my day.. especially when its community driven.

    It feels so web 2.0!

Vanilla certainly is a nice looking piece of software, my one reservation is that there are very few example sites to look at, so I'm not sure what size forum it can handle and how well it can handle a large forum.

furion -- keep us informed if / when you implement it. Have you looked at the add-ons http://lussumo.com/addons/ there alot of options to tune it and add some very nice functionality.

I've played around with Vanilla a little bit last month, and it does have some nice features. The main thing that I liked about it, was that it "looks" different than the normal forum software these days. vBulletin, smf, phpbb all look like "forums", were as Vanilla has more of a "blog comment" feel to it, IMO.

I'm sure it will grow into a solid forum software, and I'm planing on developing a new site with it in the near future just to see how well it really works.

    Web 2.0 is evil ;)

That is a very nice forum software.

Has anyone tried to integrate it with WordPress? Meaning that registered Wordpress users can post in the forum without needing to re-register? I think I've seen somewhere that it can be done.
