Did I do everything right? Am I using wordpress.com or wordpress.org???

Hi, I wasn't sure which section to post this in, but...
I'm creating my first wordpress site.


I got a domain with networksolutions

I got hosting with hostgator and connected it to my domain

In my hostgator control panel I used quickinstall to install wordpress



Hostgator emailed me my loggin information. I went to MYDOMAIN/wp-admin/ and logged in and it looked like this:


My website right now looks like this:


I'm just wondering... Have I done everything right? Also, am I using wordpress.org or wordpress.com?? Because I want to use wordpress.org so I can have access to all the plugins and themes I want. And why is there a button to download wordpress at wordpress.org? I never had to download anything...

Sorry for the nooby question, but I'd REALLY appreciate it if someone helped me out!

 

Yup, seems like you have done everything right. That is the default theme for wordpress.

 

Yes but am I using wordpress.com or .org? AKA do I have access to all the features? Because this is showing:

 

If you are using wordpress on your own domain then you are using .org..

Not needed at all. You can just use your own plugins.

Since you have your own hosting, you can put the whole theme folder in your wp-content/themes folder via FTP. Otherwise, on mac, your swatch.zip file is probably in your downloads folder. Navigate to there to find it from the upload dialog in wordpress and upload that .zip file. If you don't have a swatch.zip file on your computer, just create one from the swatch folder you have here by highlighting the main folder in the Finder and select File>Compress from the menu bar -- then upload that .zip file in wordpress.

a nulled theme is a theme that has been pirated, basically the theme is a paid theme but all of the code that is supposed to track the theme to stop piracy of it is removed.

 

this is because there is another rar file in the rar which i assume is the plugin.

 

Since I'm on a mac I used a program to open the .zip file. It created this folder to the right

When I open that folder, there's another .zip file. When I try to install that as the plugin, wordpress says this:
The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature

So then I go back and try opening the folder to the left of that .zip file (pinterest-TRAFFIC)

File transfer protocol, it basically connects two computers so you can share files.

How would you be able to help?

 

you could just try and drag the foldr into the plugins folder on the hosting

 

where can I find that folder in hostgator?
