Buying Good Quality Articles - How much do I have to pay per article? Where can I find?

Discussion in 'Content Creation' started by MTUser2010, May 2, 2012.

I've tried hiring article writers to write me good quality articles that are full of relevant content written with good style, and of course no grammatical errors. In every instance I have failed. All I get is crap: Articles full of fluff, articles that never been within 100 miles of the simplest grammar checker, articles that are Exhibit A in a criminal assault on the English language.

So I want to know, how much do I have to pay to get good quality articles like the one here? http://bit.ly/JEgd6j Just plain simple English, free of grammatical errors with good style.

And, do I have any hope of finding such a writer here, or anywhere?

Sure, I can write them myself, but I have a life. I just want to give someone the key words, receive a decent 500 word article that I can use without completely rewriting it, and pay. Did I mention that if I could achieve this I would be very happy, and the lucky person would probably have a lot more work from me?

Help me out here. Am I on fool's errand? Can you write like my example? If so how much?

If you can write like I need, PM me.

Well you're certainly not alone. Many buyers are having the same issues as you. You do have to pay a good writer a decent rate. There are MANY on here who claim that they're American but who are not. I know that because I'm an American and am now being asked to basically prove it by prospective buyers. :) Has never been an issue before but now that this swarm of low quality writers have descended upon DP from I believe getafreelancerDot.com things have gone downhill.

I totally agree with you. With all of the changes with Google, you absolutely have to invest in a good writer. And getting a good writer with great content is going to cost some coin.

You can try Elance, there are dozens of writers there with great feedback and impressive portfolios. But it'll probably cost you more than $1/100 words.

This isn't all that surprising to hear. I often see would-be "writers" posting on WTB threads in horrendous English asking for the job to be assigned to them. It is obvious that they aren't writing them themselves but are subcontracting them to those willing to write for very low rates. And such writers may not put in the necessary effort to see that an article is interesting to read. Just rewrite relevant content from other websites until the word limit is reached without even making stylistic changes.

It's also worth mentioning that regardless of what a buyer says in his or her thread such as 'American writers only need apply' these idiots are jumping in and saying things like 'hi sir - i write for you good English articles cheap'. No respect shown whatsoever.

The lack of real "American writers" is in direct correlation to the lack of real buyers that know what they want. I have had numerous people request an American born writer and then have no idea what they want in the way of content. They just want an American writer so that they can seem like they know what they are doing. And you also have people that don't want to pay for even medium quality content. No American is going to write for less than $1/100 words unless it is a bulk order and even then it has to be a serious order. To the original poster, the writers are out there. If you look hard enough, you will find the good ones.

@MTUser2010, I know how much it hurts to spend your hard earned money on something that has no value at all (shitty articles in this case). But with Digital Point forums you would just have to keep using the "hit and trial method" again and again, in order to get the kind of writer you are looking for.

This post worked better than anything that I could have hoped for. Many DPers wrote to me offering their services. Some look very promising. I'd say too that I got an answer to my question: You can get good content starting at $1 (rare) and going up to $3 per 500 word article.

Not to disappoint some of the posters here, I did get more than my fair share of people who simultaneously told me that they were great writers, and who used Google translate to tell me that. I just don't understand how you can request a writing job from me after my post with a PM of 3 sentences that contains 20 grammatical errors and a couple of spelling mistakes. Shame and modesty do serve useful purposes in society.
