When you sign up for them get a $25 pre-paid credit card at Walgreens then use Dreamhost code MAX97...You will get 1 years of prepaid hosting at around $22 bucks using the maximum $97 discount available...

You can only upload 7mbs at a time which is the only downside to dreamhost. Everything is fast and their support is great.

if you use mysql database, it really slow. I run same script same task on both lunarpages and dreamhost. It seems dreamhost five times slower than lunarpages.

I haven't had problems with DH yet. I haven't come close to the bandwidth limits yet, so that could be why too. But they do have great support.

Never been with them but sold a site to a person who uses them and it seems like once in a while, the site is unreachable.

Looks like they are massively overselling and proud of it. No way, anyone can really offer what they are offering for real and survive for long.

DreamHost is really popular among adult site webmasters, or at least it was about a year ago. They generally have to get loads of traffic to make sales...

    Hello guys.
Minterest: Although you have ommited the question mark, I guess your reply consists of a question. I beleive every hosting company provides support via e-mail and phone number. Not all of them provide a toll-free number.

lsams48: What DH does is called overselling. Statistics from different hosting companies show that many websites never use much of their allocated resources, thus many hosting companies oversell their resources.

Furthermore, I believe you will never get to use the maximum advertised bandwidth. Why you'll ask. Well, before you reach the max bandwidth, you will exceed your processor time. Alongside bandwidth, space there is also processor time to consider. Their TOS will have something about equal sharing of ram and processor time or a limitation to the processor time.

It's practically impossible to have a shared-hosting website 100GB traffic, let alone 3TB of bandwidth. Try semi-dedicated, VPS, or a dedicated server.

    Regrads,

    Adrian

Their response time is AT LEAST 12 hours, sometimes 24+ hours (I've waited 2 days for a response to an "URGENT" request)

Their uptime is horrible. They're always working to fix some problem. Granted, they eventually fix it... but you don't have the problems at all with other hosts.

Think about it logically. There isn't a possible way someone could offer 300GB/3TB. That's just too much. They overstuff the servers and people make other people run slower. If you use "too much" which is FARRRRRRRRRRRRRR below what they give you in the plan, you'll be booted off.

Take a look at google. They have plenty of money, and plenty of servers. They offer almost 3GB of e-mail space. If every account they had was up to 2 GB, they wouldn't be able to hold it. That's too much. They offer that much space as a "look how big we are". Few, if any reach the limit. Most are below 5 MB and I would think almost all are below 100 MB
