Find something to keep you busy. Or try an electronic cigarette to slowly quit.

What I found useful was to start working out. I used all my anger from not smoking in the gym. The weird thing was, after I started having a healthy life style and "got my lungs back", if I tried to smoke, I got sick.

My idea is not to stop smoking. Just stop smoking like a smoker. People have been smoking for hundreds of years. But not that pack/day style of smoking. Try smoking only at special events or for the pleasure of it, not for the habbit. Try a pipe, try luxury brands like SENATOR or SOBRANIE etc. Hope this helps.

MIND POWER and HABIT REPLACEMENT. We can't get rid of habits we have to 'replace' them. We are habitual creatures, and it's our choice to create healthy ones or unhealthy ones. I have a habit of snacking WAY to much while working at my computer. So trick for me, which is a healthy trick is when i want to keep snacking i drink loads of water instead. and sometimes chew gum. Water helps reduce my dark eye circles too which is a bonus! Also When i get that craving feeling for anything, i usually take it out at the gym and it goes away. We generally just crave using up energy and things like smoking suppresses that feeling. Trust me, if you get into a healthy lifestyle going for a run instead of smoking, when you see that your energy levels are slowly going up and your getting fitter and healthier then you wont want to smoke anymore!! Just think once upon a time we had to keep more active with no escalators or lifts, cars etc.. we wouldn't of been thinking so much bout smoking then. This makes sense to me, hope it helped you somewhat!?

it's very hard to stop smoking immediately. try to do it slowly. if you smoke 10 sticks a day, try to have 7 sticks. until it you can reach to 1 till 0. chew candies instead of cigarettes. or you may try electric cigarette also as substitute.

You ever seen Fast Five? There is an actor called Sung Kang who starred in it who always eats chips and peanuts in almost all the movies he has been in.

It's because he used to smoke, so he had to keep his hands and mouth moving all the time due to his past habit.

So you got to keep your mouth and hands busy so you don't crave that nicotine.

Also I would suggest those nicotine patches.

Eating instead of smoking gets you fat. Not a good idea.
And nicotine patches still have nicotine. You are still addicted. But instead of cheap cigarettes, you waste money on expensive patches.

slightly reduced together with the smokers, and accustomed to chewing gum. that all of your heart. If your heart says no, you should be able to control yourself not to do things that are not desired by you. I think it's enough to stop smoking

In the case of triggers that can not be avoided, plan alternative ways to handle them.During the process, the most important thing is to remind yourself every day about why you do not want to smoke anymore. Some people keep pictures of loved ones with the words "I quit for yourself and for you" written on a piece of paper taped to the picture. When they have the desire to smoke, pictures and written words to prevent them going ahead and smoke.

[h=3]No. 1: Know Why You Want to Quit[/h] So you want to quit smoking, but do you know why? "Because it's bad for you" isn't good enough. To get motivated, you need a powerful, personal reason to quit. Maybe you want to protect your family from secondhand smoke. Maybe the thought of lung cancer frightens you. Or maybe you'’d like to look and feel younger. Choose a reason that is strong enough to outweigh the urge to light up.
[h=3]No. 2: Don't Go Cold Turkey[/h] It may be tempting to toss your cigarettes and declare you've quit, plain and simple. But going cold turkey isn't easy to do. Ninety-five percent of people who try to stop smoking without therapy or medication end up relapsing. The reason is that nicotine is addictive. The brain becomes used to having nicotine and craves it. In its absence, the symptoms of nicotine withdrawal occur.
[h=3]No. 3: Try Nicotine-Replacement Therapy[/h] When you stop smoking, nicotine withdrawal may make you feel frustrated, depressed, restless, or irritable. The craving for "just one drag" may be overwhelming. Nicotine-replacement therapy can help reduce these feelings. Studies suggest nicotine gum, lozenges, and patches can help double your chances of quitting successfully when used with an intensive behavioral program. But using
[h=3]No. 4: Ask About Prescription Pills[/h] To ease nicotine withdrawal without using products that contain nicotine, ask your doctor about prescription medications. There are pills that help reduce cravings by affecting chemicals in the brain. They may also make smoking less satisfying if you do pick up a cigarette. Other drugs can help reduce troubling withdrawal symptoms, such as depression or inability to concentrat
[h=3]No. 5: Don't Go It Alone[/h] Tell your friends, family, and co-workers that you're trying to quit. Their encouragement could make the difference. You may also want to join a support group or talk to a counselor. Behavioral therapy is a type of counseling that helps you identify and stick to quit-smoking strategies. Combine behavioral therapy with nicotine replacement products and/or medication to boost your odds of success.
[h=3]No. 6: Manage Stress[/h] [h=3]No. 7: Avoid Alcohol, Other Triggers[/h] [h=3]No. 8: Clean House[/h] [h=3]No. 9: Try and Try Again[/h] It's very common to have a relapse. Many smokers try several times before giving up cigarettes for good. Examine the emotions and circumstances that lead to your relapse. Use it as an opportunity to reaffirm your commitment to quitting. Once you've made the decision to try again, set a "quit date" within the next month.
[h=3]No. 10: Get Moving[/h] Physical activity can help reduce nicotine cravings and ease some withdrawal symptoms. When you want to reach for a cigarette, put on your inline skates or jogging shoes instead. Even mild exercise is helpful, such as walking the dog or pulling weeds in the garden. The extra calories you burn will also ward off weight gain as you quit smoking.
