    hello friends,
Am looking for a native English travel writer. Am looking for someone who goes to cruise ships a lot, so if you are not into cruising then this thread is not for you.

    Just the two requirements:
    1) Must be native English.
    2) Must have been on a Cruise ship, atleast once...

Am ready to pay at your rates.

    My skype - uttoransen

but please, if you do not meet the above condition, please do not contact me.
    thanks,

PS. Not looking for a team of writers. Only contact if you are the writer yourself.

I'll contact you on skype if I can (I'm currently only on my phone so it's flaky sometimes), but here's some information about me.

I'd be happy to write this for you. I'm a native English writer and I've been on two cruises (Alaska and Caribbean). I own http://writing-by-michael.com and while I do have a few people who write for me, I'd be more than happy to be the exclusive writer for this project if that's what you want.

My rates are $.08 per word if you're interested. (10% discount for orders over 3000 words).

    Thank you

Good luck getting clients at that rate on this forum, thats about 8 times the going rate here, well 1c per word is a good price here, lucky if you can get that. 8c per word? Umm

I know of some clients who refuse to hire people that go below .01 with their rate because if they stoop down that low they will often times see them as lazy and not capable of writing. I have found plenty of clients who hire writers at .01 or more here on DP.

In my personal opinion I think that his rate is to low because it looks like he does a good job.

I have no trouble getting tech article writing clients at 1c per word

I charge 2c per word on Fiverr and have a great reputation there also. but the 2c per word articles are not as quick in coming

I am just saying 8c per word is a bit over the top for this forum

I agree even 1c per word is basically working for slave wages but , all the india "native English" writers who work for 2 dollars and 3 dollars per article make it more difficult to sustain reasonable rates

I think it's good for writers to raise their rates because often times they will work better.

Thank you very much for your opinion on this, but you're incorrect. I've only just started looking for clients here on DP and I'm already talking to two people who I believe will be hiring me and several others have PMed me asking about my writing. Please note, however, that I do also have an employee who works for me and writes for $.02-.03 per word so I can take clients looking for slightly less expensive writing as well.

The fact is that I would be willing to bet that I don't have nearly as much trouble getting new clients as you do. This is because I'm marketing to people who are running successful businesses (both online and offline). Clients like these understand the value of high quality writing that achieves their goals (click a link, make a sale, encourage syndication or 'likes' or 'retweets' or whatever). These clients are happy to pay my rates (and much more sometimes), and they will come back again and again with their orders.

People who purchase $.01 writing will most often slap it up on some adsense page or affiliate page with dreams of getting rich quick circling their head. After a month or two they realize that making money online takes actual work so they give up, leaving you (or any writer who charges in the $.01 per word range) looking for new clients.

In addition, DP is not the only place I market myself and I've got several regular clients who are having me write between 10 and 40 articles per week (at between $.05 and .08 per word). I split these up between myself and my business partner and we're both making decent money, and we just started our site (writing-by-michael.com) about a month ago.

Thank you. I've actually been thinking about raising my rates to $.10 per word. I have no doubt this will happen at some point, I'm just trying to figure out when.

Congratulations. If that's the market you're targeting then I wish you all the success in the world. Maybe that's how much your particular skill set can demand, and there's nothing wrong with that!

I just personally would rather write one article for $50 (or more) than 10 articles for $5 (or less), and I happen to have the skills and experience to allow me to do just that.

    Thank you.

I agree. In addition, I've written a lot of articles and other types of writing and not once have I had a client come back to me and say, "That's not worth what your charging." I have, however, had lots of compliments and gratitude from clients for my work.
