    What works these days is Pinterest. Get your links up to accounts which are listed on SE's. It's the best backlinks you could find. Lots of value plus it's possible sales so it's a win/win situation. Like every new social media, go for it now while it's still young and works out.

    Pinterest has actually hurt a LOT of sites.

    The latest trend is to use caution when marketing on Pinterest and to seem as natural and un-marketing as possible.

    Facebook is pretty darn good at creating a little impromptu forum around your business/site/product.

    Twitter is great to connect with your customers on a personal and real basis. Twitter is about communicating, not selling.

    Building a large following on your social media platforms will help with SEO when you put out content and articles. The more people that link back to your site via these articles will help rank you organically. But just having a larget following alone will not help you. You have to be consistently putting out good content that people read and care about.
