is facebook useful for seo ?

we want to make SEO , and want to publish articles on it . is it useful for me to promote our website?

It is used for promoting your website content through your circle of friends and fans in your network. It has definitely been a powerful medium for increasing a business' popularity.

 

What kind of question is that? Everybody needs to promote their business website to get more traffic and hence more business.

 

I can't say it is beneficial for seo or not but its is definitely beneficial for promotion & traffic generation. U can advertise your site or product in front of thousands of users easily.

 

You can only use Facebook by promoting the products of your sites and what is the latest with it. Through Facebook you can generate lots of traffic. If you want to add an article, better to put it in a note then tags your friends there. Before tagging your friend make it sure that they have same interest with you.

 

Sharing articles on your site with facebook is good for direct traffic. Having a Facebook profile/page with your website listed is similar to adding your website to a directory. So yes, it helps SEO.

 

Facebook is useful for your website ..... and Facebook comes under SMM..... and Facebook is really good tool for SMM...

 

As far as traffic and popularity is concern I would say YES!

I don't know if the people who are answering the question do really understand it. the question is "if facebook is useful for SEO" and not only for marketing a product. Fortunately, yes...social networks such as Facebook, Twitter, and Google + are just some of the signals Google is using in their algorithms.

 

Facebook is for direct traffic. I don't think, anyone use this for publishing articles!

Facebook can indeed be good for SEO as after the various google updates Social Media Metrics are now on the rise. As such, to have a strong social media presence (as a company) is good in the eyes of Google and will help you get higher in the SERP's. However, nobody is completely sure how much emphasis google placed on Social Media in its updates - although rest assured that it is much more than before the updates!

Also as stated in this thread, Facebook is great for raising awareness and although this is not necessarily strictly SEO, more awareness could result in more traffic and thus higher rankings.

There are also other social media sites that can be used to great affect like Twitter, Google+ and Linkedin.
