    How many keywords should I use per article of 500-600 words? Also, what is over optimization of keywords in an article? Most people use about 2% density. Is that over optimization of keywords? Should I use variations of the keywords in the article? I've heard people using LSI phrases. What are they and should you even use them in your articles?

    in 600 words article, you should target only 2 keywords. Over optimisation is when your keyword density is more then 5% so normally you can keep the keyword density upto 4%.

    3 keyword is enough for articles as for all keyword you need H1 H2 H3 tags in articles as its more imp than keyword density.

    You can use keywords up to 3-4 for 500-600 words of article.Kept your effective keyword in the title. If your keyword density exceeds 4% it may cause over optimization.So that fit your keyword in article as natural way.

    I would say that for an article of 500- 600 words you be looking at around 2% - 4% . Remember to keep your paragraphs no more than 3 or 4 lines long and try to get the attention of the reader. Statistics show that a visitor to your article will spend 7 seconds on your page before they either decide to stay and read the rest of the article or leave and look elsewhere for the information they were searching for.

    Less than 5% density is a good rule to follow.

    If you want to know about LSI keywords and how to use them in SEO - you should Google "LSI Keywords for SEO Explained Info"

    It's a tricky subject, but if you imagine your keywords as your special attack force, LSI Keywords would be the reinforcements that support your attack force.
