How to know who sent you reputation points on DP (positive and negative)

You know there is a reputation point system here on DP, in fact on all Vbulletin forums.
When you go to http://forums.digitalpoint.com/usercp.php you can see them if you got some, the colors are:
    green: positive
    gray: neutral
    red: negative

When you get reputation points from other members, you don't know who they are..

    Recently I got this one:
negative reputation point: Losing your adsense account. Well, shit happens to assholes.

So who is this fine member? It's Browntwn an old time member with over 7,000 posts.

This bad reputation point has been given to me on a thread where he didn't participate. The post itself was a funny image, nothing out of the ordinary:
    http://forums.digitalpoint.com/showthread.php?t=2580557&p=18165338#post18165338

How could I know it was him with 100% certainty without using my psychic powers?

Can you guess? Do you already know? I know it's not important to know who send the reputation points, we're not in high school anymore (well most of us) it's just for fun.

I'll let you guess and will tell you later if anybody is interested in finding out :)

Sometime, its possible to find if that person has posted in the thread. Like you can match time of post and time of rep. ;)
Or sometime its given by those, who don't like you and you find it by the number of points which get deducted if its a negative rep.

Hmm I'm guessing someone at the admin side of DP got wind of this thread because now the way is not working anymore..
It was easy, you right clicked on the reputation line when in usercp.php and choose inspect element (firefox or chrome) and there you could see a css attached to the line it was like this:
    li#reputationbit_18168755_userid

and userid was the userid of the one who sent the reputation point, so you could simply add it to http://forums.digitalpoint.com/member.php?u= it would show the user profile, but now, today it shows:
    li#reputationbit_18168755_0

And when I do it on other vbulleting forums it is not 0, so that's why I'm guessing someone at the admin side (shawn) actually bothered to make that change, maybe I'm dreaming? :)

Try it on other forums running vbulletin. Well now Browntwn and others self-righteous members can keep on insulting other members without them knowing where it comes from. I guess it keeps the peace :)

I wouldn't worry about it at all, just keep on truckin. ;)
The only way you should see who left you rep is if the admins set it up that way, it's not how it is currently so you're really just wasting your time asking about it. ;)

Also I'd suggest the stopping the drama you're trying to build up, if a member has been abusive you should report the post. Making a post just to call someone out is likely going to get you more red rep because most users here don't really care to watch someone complain. ;)

    Good luck!

PS.. It's not like your rep is going to turn red anyways, you already have a few pips, it would take a TON of bad rep to make it obvious to others.

Don't worry I'm not building up anything, just sharing a finding. If you read my latests posts in this thread I say what it is, it is in the css by default from vbulletin software, it had a naming which gave out the userid of the member sending the reps. That has been fixed very recently, probably today or yesterday, on DP only by setting all css names to XXXXX_0 instead of XXXXX_userid. On other forums based on vbulletin it is still the case. I just made this thread to share something technical, because it is still a webmaster forum, so technical quizz like this can be fun :)

That's all there is to it, I don't care about user browntwn or any other of those mostly hanging out in politics&religion, seriously that's where one can easily find trouble if one wants :)
