    We have been analyzing the scope of a new social media website. Many social media websites have emerged after facebook and some of them have made it to the top. pinterest is an example
    So what is the scope of a new social media website?? Does an image sharing site still have a catch?

    Social media, according to Wikipedia, are social software which mediate human communication. It only means that all factors are used in order to engage all users and interact on the web. So all sites today are not only using images or videos, they also include other forms of media that could lure the users and keep them in touch with others. If you are asking for the scope of a new social media, then it has to be broader... than sharing images...

    What about a more efficient version of what is currently existing, a more simple yet interesting method to share and browse images? Do you think this could improve the social engagement??

    Social Media and file sharing images are 2 products in 1 packet. However, facebook and pinterest alternatives are countless. if you want to make a new one , you should be ready to compete with instagram, photobucket, picassa, and Google plus. My suggestion is create a new pair of social media other than photo sharing.

    I know that there are countless alternatives to facebook and pinterest. What if we develop the same is in a different perspective? All the websites that uses the social media website should be able to get fruit from the website, it should be a win-win methodology that should be followed. We develop an amazing website for the users, there is no doubt that it would find its way to the top.

    You mean to say a revenue-sharing social network site. I think this good idea was tried before but so far nothing so good came out of it...

    I didn't mean to say 'revenue-sharing' but if we give 3rd party websites free promotional opportunities through the website where they can market their websites and products to the users of the website, that will be more convincing than 'revenue-sharing'.

The whole idea of Pinterest is totally different from that of Facebook or Google+.     It would be a huge challenge to create another social media photo sharing site. Social media sites are so abundant now that creating one at all would be a massive challenge. You'd have to come up with a really unique angle or combination and the site itself would have to be very well put together.
