Adding Files To Subdomains

I use Hostgator as my host. My first website was chingo.com. I bought several domains and added them as addon domains but when I add files to the addon domains to be downloaded it is shown as chingo.com/addondomain/makemoney.pdf. I want it to show just addondomain.com/makemoney.pdf. Is there any way I can do this? I don't know if I have explained this properly but I want my addon domains to be there own domain. Any advice is appreciated.

Check Hostgator documentation., additionally you might get a better, more useful response by asking on the Hostgator forums.

    Good luck.

I've asked there already with no responses since yesterday. Was wondering if someone here knew what to do.

I uploaded the file using the cpanel not FTP. I wonder if that has something to do with it?
