Are You Rich?

Being successful to me simply means being happy and comfortable with your life... If you hit a point where you can afford to live in a decent place and pay your families way in regards to education and the like as well as afford that extra little entertainment and the odd holiday... That to me is successful!!

I was at one point, what I would consider successful but its funny how such things can change so fast!

I'm not as concerned about money as most people however I would like to be able to make enough to be able to do something that would help others, I'm strange like that... I'm one of those people that just enjoy/like to help others for no real reason other than to help them.
(I know there are others like that and you guys n gals are awesome!)

I like some of the previous replies... Mostly from the first page and then the cookie comment! I would love to use the "like" feature but sadly I don't believe I can until I am an established member here. Unless I just cannot see the option?

 

In my point of view, this thread is useless. Unless you are not talking about the money at all, anyone can post whatever they want to...

I guess so, but if someone would lie about that sort of thing they're only really cheating themselves... All the honest people would still enjoy posting their responses and such and I am sure it helps the original poster in some way.

I have high income, several properties and a nice car. Though I wouldn't consider myself rich, I am more fortunate then some, due to hard work and lack of a partner or children

 

Gosh, I have a high income, multiple properties, and two cars paid off... That's not rich sir. Try to impress us with your Gulfstream or something like that.

 

No, but then, I have no interest in becoming rich. The idea never crosses my mind, I don't fantasize about it, I don't have a plan in place for if a huge amount of money comes my way. All I really want is enough to get by and provide for myself and my family. Which we thankfully have, mostly by living within our means and saving whatever we can.

The only thing I really want money for is travel. But even that is something achievable without being rich, and something I take part in regardless of how much I make. So it comes back down to not really needing it.

I disagree and think there are plenty of millionaires in DP. I came into my parents life very late in their lives, they were in their late 40's and early 50's. They are no longer with us and I received an inheritence 3 years ago.
I do not need to work, I do because I wish to.

 

I appreciate that response... It's something I would do even If I became "rich" I was well off at one point but I was never truly rich! I would like to make more money though, because I have things that I would love to do with it, not only for myself but for others too!


I believe there are many seriously wealthy people on the forum but I don't think they would concern themselves with broadcasting it by posting here, at least not the majority of those decent people

I also think that being "rich" isn't too important, what you do with your riches is pretty important though. I would like to do so many things that would help a lot of people if I were to win the lottery or something like that. I would of course have my own fun but I would still work and do what I love doing...

Money does seem to control a lot of peoples lives though, I would like to believe I am not fueled by money but sadly we all need it to survive...

I think it's different meaning between "rich" and "millionaire/billionaire".
Rich is in your mind. It's relative and can't be calculated by money.

 

Go to Thailand! Everyone is rich there!
