Sold a site, buyer disappered!! What to do?

Discussion in 'General Chat' started by abuzant, Dec 2, 2006.

    Hello,

A couple of weeks ago, i sold a website here at DPF at the BIN price. The buyer had 0 posts (registered just to make me an offer) and he paid within 5 minutes the full BIN price... Then disappeared.

No more communication of any kind, he never asked how to get the scripts, transfer the domain, etc..

What is correct for me to do? Refund the payment, wait a little more?!

    Thanks in advance, Ruslan

If you've really tried everything to contact him, I'd just wait a little bit longer. It's his money, his responsability, I think. When he sees his bank account, he'll remember it, hopefully.

    No cantact after payment

How he paid you ?? Through Paypal or any other payment system. If through paypal then there is a chance of chargeback IMO.

Wait for him few more days. He definately going to contact you.

Seems a little odd for someone to signup and buy a site and forget about it, how much did he buy the site for? Whatever you do though, dont spend the cash untill he contacts you, if not refund him.

Haha, if he files a complaint by paypal you can quickly get rid of it anyway by just clicking refund... you wont lose anything... but he should get in touch unless he paid like $10 lol

    yup,
but i guggest you to search him,who knows he may be searching you and blamming you for contacting him,as he might have forgotten, your contact.
but anyway seiya is also correct, thats buyer mistake not the seller.

Maybe the buyer suffered from a massive stroke right after he pressed the "Pay" button on PayPal. ;)

But seriously I'd wait until he trys to contact you about it. It's not your fault he stopped communicating after payment, it's his fault.

I cannot understand how some of you buy or sell something without a contract.

A contract will probably solve most of the problems.

It's his site, you sold it to him. I wouldn't make any changes without his permission now.

I think you should keep the money, and then just give it to him if he asks. In the meantime, I would still maintain the site though. :)

Funny you should say that abuzant we had a person purchase one of our domain names and he paid us by Western Union Money Transfer, we were PMing him for about 2 weeks solid before he finally got back to us.

Thankfully he did get back to us and we shifted the site over to him.

Pretty strange because if I paid for something (especially by Western Union) then I would be keen to complete the deal.

    Some people are strange.

I'd try sending an e-mail to paypal explaining the whole thing and checking if the buyer hasn't already file a complaint.

If paypal doesn't care or if no complaint exists, I would wait.

On the other hand the buyer's only pc could have broke down, that would be a plausible explanation for this weird behavior.
