Is a Yahoo Directory listing worth $299

Do you guys think a directory listing on Yahoo! is worth the $299 fee? I own an ecommerce bedding site and I see about 35 competitors in my specific category. Has anyone had ecommerce experience with yahoo directory?

Are you saying the 35 competitors are in the Yahoo directory or just saying you are competing with 35 companies and want to know if the directory will help?

still have a yahoo listing from times when it was free, but i think i have never seen a visitor from there (shops/food). i paid ~$400 for a 3y advertising on a large portal about this topic, sends me between 50 and 100 visitors per month - think this makes much more sense than $300/y for yahoo.

Yahoo may not be driving enough traffic but it certainly enhances the authority of a website. But is Yahoo inclusion worth $$$ .... Who whould answer that???

I don't have ecommerce site but definitely Yahoo directory will give you benefits in traffic and SERP rankings because Yahoo really gave you good quality links. IMO

I am having 2-3 sites in yahoo directory from Sep 06 but it does not and impact on SERP rankings at all. IMO with the $299 fee in yahoo directory is not worth.

It's not worth it as Yahoo has dropped the ball on their directory. They had it right at one point, but lost focus and now it just plain sucks.

I've got a couple in there and haven't really noticed any increase in traffic from them.

    Hi,

I have found Yahoo to be less effective than either Google or MSN. I also find their GUI to be more difficult, especially adding in new keywords.

This thread is about the Yahoo directory, not the search engine or the PPC engine.
