Spam control systems: DP Vs WF

Hello,

Digital point and warrior forum both introduced different systems to control spam in forum.
Digital point apply a 3 likes system.
Warrior forum introduces $10 registration service to stop spam.

What do you think which system is better to stop spam?

Pros of DP system

1) Stop spam registration
2) stop low quality posts and threads in marketplace

Cons of DP system
1) only focus on marketplace spam

Pros of Warrior forum system

1) stop spam registration
2) earn money from every member of the forum.

Cons of warrior forum system
1)only stop spam registration

 

Come on... WF is and has always been the "bloodsucker" kind of forum.
Stop spam you say? Nah... just get money from the registration since most WF users are there to buy or sell... it has finally turned into the marketplace it should've been from the beginning instead of calling themselves "a forum"

 

Look on WF: the $10 does not stop spam. WSO section proves that. It's spam selling central. That's before even looking at the other sections. Although most SEO/webmaster forums have the same problem (dumb questions be so-called SEOs/webmasters who can't even use a search engine).

As a lot of low quality users can't even register at DP now, it is not just a focus on Marketplace spam. So, DP has the better systems in place, whereas WF just makes me want to puke (like DP did for some sections before the update). Any idiot can register there for $10 (and plenty of idiots were members before the charge).

 

I don't like WF with or without $10 fee... easy as that

 

I just recently came across WF. Thought of joining it. When I saw the $10 fee at sign up, I thought it was totally ridiculous. Obviously, I can afford $10, but I just think you have to provide some great service for me BEFORE you take my ten bucks. Imagine a store or some local business charging you $10 at the entrance!? You'd say WTF!

 

I pay $10 to get into bar's but it's worth it after drinking a lot of beers and hanging out at the bar for a few hours.

 

HA! Good point. That's probably an exception, not a rule.

 

Hardly, people were spamming the whole forum, every section, to get access to the marketplace. The solution deals with forum-wide spam, not only marketplace spam.

 

I feel like Warrior Forum isn't a very welcoming place, you have to pay 37 bux before you can pay the next fee to place your offer there, must suck for ppl that want to sell or buy something there, fortunately I don't have such needs atm
