Looking for dedicated server or hosting

Hello everyone.

I have enterainment website : anime, tv shows, manga online
All files hosted elsewhere, so im hosting only links to them, I wanted to change my hosting long time ago, but always were leaving it for another time. this time I received complain from hosting they want me to remove few popular animes and mangas, its not a problem to remove them, but I want to keep everything as it is....

So can anyone recomend me some hosting or better cheap dedicated servers that wont complain to me when someone will write to them....

If you're hosting or linking to copyrighted materials and don't have the authority to do that, then you are going to need an offshore host, or host in a country that doesn't care about DMCA/Copyright violations. No host in the US is going to allow you to do that.

 

Actualy Im using rign now 1and1.co.uk as much as I know they are based somewhere in eu - germany I think.

 

Germany cares about copyright...at least most datacenters I have seen there. We aren't allowed, per the forum rules, to discuss copyright violation, so I won't even begin to point you in the right direction.

1and1.co.uk is, as the domain name suggests, based in England. They're in Slough, to be exact.

How come adult content related to server speed and workings?

 

As far as I know linking is not actually prohibited in general in Germany but I'm not a lawyer so no guarantee this information is correct as there were already people convicted for linking to ripped movies etc.

 

The biggest issue for you is that offshore hosting tends to be less reliable than US, UK, Aus, Canada based hosting. I, at one stage, had a site which needed offshore hosting (I decided that I didn't want to be on the wrong side of the law so I closed it pretty quick). I went with a host who basically had some sort of hack attack and they had no backups. The result was all client websites data gone and possibly client information stolen. Go with a dedicated server in OVH France or something. They host a lot of seedboxes and other questionable things. If you get complaints you may get removed though.

If you're looking for a good offshore server that is very well, let's say "good" about DMCA complaints. Would you mind If I got in contact with you about this as I've been retired from it and have moved on to help host people who are concerned about what you have described. I can and will offer you a trial for a week just so you could get accustomed to it.

All of the servers I currently have hosted in the Netherlands are very very little downtime. If you would like I can post the current uptime of one.

OVH is nice for p2p / torrenting but when it comes to "linking" they are very very strike in regards to it. I've had a customer who ran a blog and just, just because he posted one link to a steaming movie his IP was null routed and we were sent a backup of his files and was told to leave. In my experience the reasoning for the p2p / seedboxes would be the flimsy tracking company's do which can easily be incorrect.

I was searching for hosting for my sites for over a year, went thru horrible experiences like alibaba and few others whose names I forgot thanks god. Then http://www.glesys.se was quite good, but weird CS and could not handle big traffic, the VPS was not managed by them so went offline during peaks, but good price.

The dmcahosting is great, the guys care, they consult things with your IT staff when there is urgency, they propose solutions etc., they can do a lot (I am not IT expert) but they want to rent whole dedicated server. DMCA they throw to basket, because in Czech republic you must go to the court to take website down and it is very costly and outsiders do not know how to do it I was told. Only problem is their price which starts at 200E/month/customer. But they are not resellers, so you really get good value. I have few big servers there and buying more.

I thought I'd jump in here; being a provider myself. Our VPS services are currently located in Colombus, OH. We use the XLHost datacenter and purchase our services directly from XLHost themselves. They're a great bunch (and I'd advise you to contact Sales for a deal). I'm sure you can cut a deal with them.

Alternatively, we also use Secured Servers (Phoenix, AZ) and ReliableSite (Piscataway, NJ). We also use a few other providers but those are the main ones. All of those have great support. I'd advise you to contact their sales and see who offers the best deal. Then, search for reviews on the providers so you can see other customers experiences. Then, purchase the one that you think has the best "rating" overall. I would also ask their Sales quite a few questions about them, their network, hardware, etc, so you get a feel about who you will be working with.
