Is Getting a like the Hardest Thing On Digital Point forum?

It's only easy to get banned if you create a duplicate account or you blatantly attack or harass another member. Otherwise getting banned shouldn't be easy as the mods will give you ample warnings first. Only if you *choose* not to modify your behavior after receiving the warnings, will one get banned.

 

i have to say, the like system is a little annoying for someone who is not used to it, bluntly it forbids you to do what you actually want/need to do at a forum... but after a while i got used to it and i actually now changed my opinion... it probably cuts down alot of errr dare i say weeds and actualy forces people to help other people and talk/listen about many different subjects. So, keep the good ideas flowing

If you worry about appearing antisocial or pissing people off then you would never make a good foreman or a boss.
Personally I don't care how I appear as long as the money people, (clients or the people I am under contract with) like me.
I save my sociability for them, why waste it on the rest?
Anyway as to the topic, even though I can demonstrate antisocial behavior at times, I still manage to get likes daily. Honestly, acquiring likes is easy if you understand the art of conversation.

So what exactly is this art of conversation?

 

The art of conversation is the ability to adapt to the conversation as required. In other words you know when to be serious, when to be humorous, (when not to as well) and also to be able to gage the mood of the person you are having the conversation with.
You should also have enough knowledge to know what you are discussing. *That* is the art of conversation.

most members keep their knowledge to themselves. It's true .....
I hope there will be more DP member share their knowledge.

 

I agree the like thing is a way of cutting down spam but surely the negative of that is new members are so concerned with trying to gain the 3 likes that they end up just posting for the sake of posting with not much helpful content, that is also a type of spam.

 

There is some truth to your comment. But on the positive side some of these new members who are posting in order to try and become established are remaining as regular posters. Some of them have discovered that contributing and being an active poster is enjoyable. They would not have come up with this conclusion without being motivated by the new like system.
At first many of them do post crap, but ultimately they seem to get with the program and do improve with time.

 

I understand that this like things can help the forum to stop spamming, and that's great.

I don't think spam can actually be stopped. But this 3 likes things really keeps people that do not want to contribute away. Then again spammers are buying likes. Who says anything is perfect in this world.

 

True, but they are wasting their money because as soon as they start posting crap they get banned, just goes to show the mentality of these idiots.
