Tt's better to forgive, no matter what the offense was. Give it some time then let it go.

Forgiving those who have done bad to you is not so easy as it seems especially when someone close to you has done that because it hurts you from within.

It is never easy to forgive a person like that. A good idea is to let the time pass by and the wounds heal up to some extent. Then it becomes easier to forgive the person.

We can imagine it but that won't make it so. The world is not like that and never will be. In life you have two choices. You can run with the rats or get eaten by them. I learnt from an early age that life is tough and in order to survive, one needed to learn to be tough.

So the choice is yours, in the army when you screw up are you forgiven? Don't things run smoothly in the army? Everything is so black & white, simple. They don't bother with the concept of forgiveness because it's a sign of weakness and that won't work if fighting is involved. In life we will always need to fight, that's the way life is.

Forgiving those who wronged us is to forgive ourself. It's our own undoing if we keep thinking of the enemy who hurt us.

It's being in control of ourself, the situation and our future.

Preventing others from hurting you by deterring them, *is* taking control of ourselves, our situations and our futures. How do you deter them? By being so vindictive that they dare not try and harm you.;)

It isn't so easy for me, especially given that the people that hurt me in the past tend to want to continue hurting my in the present, all while saying "get over it". No, I don't think so.

Well, if you get a "dear" then you are lucky. Me they call either "mam" which I can live with, but some even call me "sir" in skype. I have a worldwide known female name and a similar pic to this profile pic here and they still call me "sir", what does it show about them? Or perhaps I'm too masculine :D

Sorry about this off topic rant..

It is more important to forget and forgive. It is easy to forgive as forgiving does not assure forgetting. I may forgive someone for the wrong doings in the past but keep on reminding the doer of the same mistakes in and out suggesting that I relieve myself from the burden and inflict pain on the other through an indirect revenge. When I forget about the past I let go the feeling of taking revenge in any form and I forgive him/her for the wrong done in the past. This is difficult but after a while I feel elated.
