What are the benefits of Yahoo Answers in terms of Seo?

How does it help in website promotion?

Yahoo answers help in optimizing our website by giving a link in the answer or source. When you start Yahoo Answer you have level 1 and 100 points. The points increases with the answers given by you. The asker rate your answer and if he find your answer as the best then he vote your answer and declare it as the best answer. After achieving some best answers your account entered into level 2 and now you can add the URL of your website. The person reading the answer will click the link and it will lead to your website. This is, how yahoo answer helpful for capturing traffic.

 

I'd say there are very little to no benefits of Yahoo Answers in terms of SEO, since the Yahoo Answers TOS forbids promotion of any kind.

 

So does Google see these links your leaving in answers to peoples questions as good related links.
It's almost like blog commenting.

 

Blog commenting can be a good way to get some backlinks. You just need to keep them relevant.

I still disagree. I don't think violating a site's TOS helps with SEO and Yahoo Answers is very clear that advertising/promoting is not allowed.

 

Yahoo Answer is much traffic driven platform, so it's most important to attract traffic. More benefits are:
-Live backlink unlike directories or bookmarks.
-If your answer w'd be chosen best your link will displayed on top position in that thread.
-Since many search engines have specific bots to crawl new or updated threads for this type of discussion platform, so your link also be crawled with this updated info.

Who says, yahoo answers help in SEO. Not they don't help.

Yahoo! answers just help you to build some reputation among the masses by showcasing your expertise by answering question and ultimately help you get more business. But directly it doesn't help anyway.

Yahoo answers only help you promoting your website while you are active member and not be spammy. Meanwhile also write the correct information about you in the profile and dont let your profile empty.

yahoo answers help you to build traffic. at first when you are in level 1 you can answer the questions but can't add your website URL .but gradually when you approach in level 2 you can link your website URL in the source box. and thus when the reader read your answer he/she will visit your website through the URL given in the source box. then your website will get publicity. in a word it will help you to make money through your blogs.
