    I really don't have much knowledge of what they are or what they do. Does it make it quicker to add content to your site?
    Also, do you think sites like http://ign.com and http://gamespot.com use a CMS?

    definetly it is easy to maintain a CMS, and if you have php or asp knowledge you can add modules to a cms like joomla, etc

    Personally, I tried Joomla and thought it was too dumbed down and didn't allow for as easy low level customizations as I wanted. I'm now customizing wordpress for my needs.
