I was going to drop the guy a note to compliment him but there's no contact option on the site. I have a sneaky feeling that he's probably a DP reader so, if you arem good work fella!

Adsense warned me before of having images too close to ads without a visible border...I think he does too.

Does the border have to be on adsense, or can the border be on the images?

I guess his argument would be that the pics have fairly hefty borders around them. I know what you're saying, though. Personally I wouldn't sail this close to the wind but I've seen worse examples which are still live after months online.

How did Big G warn you? Did they give you a time frame to change the layout? How did they find the site in the first place?

I think thats legal technically, although he might be contacted by google for making the ads look like uniform content on his site.

I am also confused with this matter. So far I am not cleared about this. I have seen in many sites that the border is not visible and the google terms say that there must be visible border in between ads and image. Whats the right ?

Spammy looking first post Mishmash but I can see the relevance.

I like the Cricket one better and I'm currently testing similar tactics myself but without images.

It's exactly the same so i think it's pretty relevant, made by the same guys.

I've read that this method is pretty borderline anyone know of any examples that google stepped in on?

Okay, wowDDR has some pretty darn nice content. I mean... I don't even play WOW (though I do play DDR), and the WOW coke commercial got me laughing at the coolness and silliness of it all. In all the excitement over the content, I barely even saw the adds, even though I was looking for it. Great site.

they will definetly get a warning or a direct ban of their account, because google has warned many people to insert atleast a border line if they want to place images next to ads,

I wonder if having a table containing the images, which has a border between each cell in the table, and then having the links in the same table, but different cells would be enough under terms of service would be enough, since there would obviously be a border between them, but the image bar and the text would still be associated.

so the whole issue is about not having a border seperating the images from the text? Then if there was a bar seperating the images and the menu items that would be a way of working around that surely?

Well it's nothing about the menu items for the site it's self, but rather there being images directly above the text of the google adds, thus implying that the adds are a part of the site, and using deception to get people to click on links that are not a part of the site.

oh so we're talking about the bottom ads? Personally the links included by google are worded very well to fit in with the subject of the site so the person who clicks on them is clearly going to be interested in them, I thought that was what the Adsense scheme was about, providing good quality relevant traffic. Not like anyone's being duped into it.

That IS the point of Adsense, however Google does not want people becoming irate at Google because of the business practices of those who use Adsense on their sites. As such they are trying very hard to use the TOS to prevent the site owners from deceiving people visiting their site into believing that the links provided by Google are a native part of the site.

Hmm, maybe as in the instance further up this post (about the site active for months yet is worse than this) google choose selectively when to enforce it's TOS upon those not producing valid traffic?
