Super Cyclone Phailin coming in Eastern India
It will affect mostly to Odisha and Andhrapradesh.
US says this cyclone will be more dangerous than the Cyclone Katrina in Louisiana
at a speed of 280km to 315km/hour.
Our state is on affected area. But my place is somehow safe.
Still there may be 50km to 80km/hour storm in our place.

God bless Odisha people it will be reach there in next one hour already people had seen it's effect at Gopalpur may be it will start from there. Half million people had moved from that area but still it's very dangerous than katrina.

 

Just got online after Super Cyclone.
Our place is not much affected. But just in front of my home electric power line pole broke.

 

So many trees and poles broken down but good news is that due to precautions so many lives are saved & just today I heard in news Phailin killed 14 people but Sadly there are 115 people died in Madhya Pradesh temple stampede
cyclone don't kill people but people kill other people.

 

Good to read that you came out of it o.k. I guess the winds slowed down a bit when they came across the waters, before they hit the coastline.

 

By the way, my place is 200km away from sea.
Our State Govt. done great thing by giving precaution, Evacuation of people near sea(Within 5 kms) by Trains.
In 1999, there was a less powerful cyclone (210km/hour), but more than 9000 life were lost.
In 2013, as per current news our state lost 9 people and andhrapradesh lost 15 people.
This is a great achievement by saving lives from cyclone.

 

Nice to hear that the death toll is comparebly low compared to the 1999 .....
