You don't need to be Canadian to open up an account.

try searching those sites (ABOVE) for the "online application" sections.

of course, the easiest way IMHO would be to "come over for a short vacation," drop into a LOBLAWS Superstore, Zehrs etc., fill out an application at the www.pcfinancial.ca pavillion, and VOILA, you should have an account.

P.S. www.pcfinancial.ca is an awesome NO BANKING FEES Canadian bank!

    GOOD LUCK.

P.S. maybe email them first and ask about getting an account if you are not Canadian.

None of those banks you guys linked to seem to let a non-resident sign up. they all ask for Canadian ID or proof of residency. Where can an American citizen open a Canadian bank account?

ING is now giving 50 dollars instead of 25 for opening an accoount.

The offer ends on August 31st of 2012, after that date it comes back to $25.

So grab an orange key and open your account now!
