    Hi,

I am in the middle of creating a social networking and was just wondering what features you guys would want to see in it.
Right now I have similar features to Facebook but then I have loads of features that Facebook does not offer.

    Thank you.

I'd like to be able to "do not trust" or "do not like" a person.
Most of us could probably clock up a few of those but it would be interesting to see social vilification at work

    Thank you for your feedback.
I do not mind that idea, but would that not be a bit insulting to the person you are saying that to.

sure would, but that's the major flaw in most social networks - you can't warn people about other people. It's all positive

    I guess so.
I will add that feature in. It is better having it then not having it. People can use it if they want or not use it.
    Thank you for the idea.

I would like a feature that makes sending media/files to friends easier, so for example I can send an image or file in the message section, without the need for uploading it to another website and then sending a link. Saves a lot of time! There's a lot of more of features that would be nice to have, I myself worked on a social gaming network a while ago. Will definitely come back to this thread and post more ideas after I have asked my friends and have came up with more stuff.

OT; Do you want any help with coding/beta testing? I'm a web developer and it would be fun to work together with others.

Inbuilt photo editor sounds great! So people that can't use photoshop or other programs can do basic editing to for example their profile picture. Just look at instagram and it will be hard to say that it's not a good idea.

Okay, no problem. Would be cool to check out the website when it's done, please post a link to it here when it's launched;)

I am glad you like the idea.
Yeah it will be a basic one similar to Instagram.
Sure I would be more then happy to post the link.
I am hope to finish the site by the end of the month, but that being said I have been working on it for a couple of months now.

LOL. It might seem nice in the moment but it could also be abused. I would say a wider range of comment buttons other than just "like" would be nice, though. Like when a bit of news shock or disgusts me, I'd like to have a button for those emotions.

Anything else FB or other networks don't have yet that you think people would use would also be nice. If I think if more ideas, I'll come back and let you know.

    Thanks for the help.
I think I have few features that people will enjoy to use other then just talk to one another.

I will be sure to give users the options to like, or dislike something.
What other emotion buttons should I add.

I've done this - would relate to "hug your child today" or "lobby your local member of parliament"

Maybe a good way to avoid people abusing the "dislike" button in an offensive way would be to have an x/10 rating system. Remember when YouTube allowed you to rank videos with stars instead of just "like/dislike"? Those were the good days.

thats quite interesting..but according to me there should be the features like if someone wants to post an unwanted pic or if someone attempt to tag some others in some kind of pic that is unwanted, first it would ask the account password or some security question about that particular person whom someone wants to tag, that would be quite interesting

Maybe just have different reactions such as "funny" "boring" or others. Dislike wouldn't be too bad, but I wouldn't want to see honest people penalized.

    Thank you for the input.
I have them all except for a mobile app.
I do have a mobile site but do you think that it would be better to also have a app.
