    You can use your website to market your brand! Make it's a professionally designed & well laid-out website which has unique useful content. You can then choose a domain name which reflects your brand name.

    You may also outsource graphics creation & have a logo made up for you which you can then place on the banner of your website.

    Social media is very important for branding. Set up a Fan page with your logo as well & invite people to participate & discuss content on your page. Link your site to the fan page. (Also have a twitter account & dont neglect the power of Google+)

    Market with your website, choose a certain niche, and go full bore with it. Let that be YOUR thing that people know you or your site for. Just like maboline is known for their makeup, you can be known for a certain thing/product/service

    Find a niche you like because you will be there for some time. Branding takes time.
    The cheapest is Youtube viral videos but you have to produce them...

    Memorable tag line.
    Consistency across all forms of media (site, social media, forums, products etc( with logos and colours
    Use the same avatar everywhere you are (i.e. on forums and commenting on blogs)
    Use consistent language that your audience relates to.
    Always thin "how can I help my customer" and strinv to offer value not "how can I make money".

    Look...first and foremost thing to go for promotion of the brand is to do seo activities so that you should be expertise in that,for building up the business and social media plays a very important role to promote the brand in mass as well as to drive the traffic.

    LOL. That sounds about right! "How to brand" is a broad topic, but one step is making sure all your business literature, contact cards, websites and social profiles appear similar. When everything is uniform, it attracts people and helps ingrain who you are in their memory.
