    Advertising (learn more)

Advertise virtually anything here, with CPM banner ads, CPM email ads and CPC contextual links. You can target relevant areas of the site and show ads based on geographical location of the user if you wish.

Starts at just $1 per CPM or $0.10 per CPC.

So I experienced my first real ultra spam attack.

Well I run acne-medicine.net a site if you visit that is in it's up most infancy. However today my account for that specific site was locked down due to over 10,000 user registrations in one day and 20,000 login request. Now I don't know about you but.. wow Chinese spammers go hard.

So I had to shut down registrations bulk delete subscribers and add captcha for future registration opening. I had 452 post request for registration from 1 single IP address. My stop spammers plugin stopped 20,000 bad IP's in a matter of 10 minutes.

Why would someone want to spam a site like mine so hard? My Host is pretty awesome and has helped me a long the way to handle this.

Probably because some acne ridden teenager got frustrated that he can't get rid of his acnes and so he decided to go and destroy any site that sells anti-acne remedies. It happens.

On an absolutely different note. You have a 468x60 AdSense ad there, if you change the font of that ad to Arial / Large that ad's font will become more large and more visible.

Maybe your competitors ? Have you thought about that ? IP doesn`t matter, automated bots are on hacked servers.

Guess it could be and @webcosmo I don't think it was one of my competitors but if it is I'm ready to battle.

I know there have been times that this site has been under attack and the hit rate per minute was mind boggling.

On the plus side, it could have been someone testing a new bot who didn't quite have the throttle right. After all, if you draw the attention of the hosting company and the site owner you aren't going to get too far.

True, could be anyone. Some spammers are so stupid that they don`t care they destroy the site, they`re just doing it. I think they don`t even think.

It is very bad, I have the same experience about six month back, suddenly numbers of bot visit increased to 20000 visits per hour and so my hosting provider don't allow that much of traffic and down my site.. it continued up to 10 days and after that time, I have lost all my ranks in Google..
