I don't think trying to please everyone is a good idea. But if you get helpful for many people, they will like you, it'll come naturally.
For ex, I make some good friends here, on DP forum. At the begining we didn't know each other, but they contacted me to ask for help. I tried to help them as much as possible (for their own sake, but not trying to sell them anything, or asking anything in return - I think many people here can confirm my words), and we have a good relationship now. I always believe that you should GIVE first without thinking too much, which will make your life better and better.

Since you're 64 (a lot lot older than me, I personally feel I've not experienced enough to advise you, but from my own experience so far, that's all I wanna say)

If you really think this way, then you would have to look at yourself. Sure, there are things in you that others don't like.
The other thing is that, they may be jealous and that's the main reason why they don't like you. This means they don't deserve you.
You would better find the right people that will really deserve you. Others are the wrong people for you. There isn't anyone that is liked by everyone. The important is to find the right people that will like you.

 

Keep in mind this perspective:

25% of the people will never like you, no matter what you do

25% of the people may not like you initially, but later they may start liking you

25% of the people may like you initially, but later they may start disliking you

25% of the people will always like you, no matter what you do

Don't waste your time on the people who do not like you or who have started disliking you. Just leave them alone. Find someone who will like you no matter who you are or what you do.

 

You think that nobody likes you but are you 100% certain of that? Perhaps if you've convinced yourself that this is indeed the case, you may be giving off negative introverted vibes. It is quite possible therefore that you appear aloof and unfriendly.
Try being a bit outgoing and even put an occasional smile on your face. Change your attitude and mindset and maybe you'll pick up a friend or two along the way. For what it's worth I like you because you were honest enough to confront how you feel and ask for input on it. This tells me that at the very least you are wanting a positive change, good luck to you with all.

 

Fuck what others think of you. Just be a decent person, and you will attract the right kinds of people.
