Facebook has screwed up morality

Nothing to do with marketing but I've been aware of all the fuss about facebook not allowing photos of post-op breast cancer victims and breast feeding Mums. Then today I saw this pic on facebook but apparently it's ok.

I get that everybody is a willing participant in the activities but I'm not sure the couple knew their photo was being taken or that it would end up online. And I can't see how this is "better" than a mother feeding her baby.

FWIW I have no idea who Ashley Taylor is, let alone his/her age or country.

It's just a wild guess, but I am wondering if FB has different standard / approaches for different countries when it comes to the things of this sort. I am 99% positive that this wouldn't fly in the US since the tolerance level to a public display of nudity is pretty low among the general public here.

Their community standards support team probably saw that you were not one of those crazy American moms and decided that they could just let it slide in hopes that you were not going to make a big deal out of it. :)

I suspect that this is more a symptom of FB's size. I.e., the right hand does not know what the left hand is doing. I imagine that they have hundreds or perhaps thousands of reviewers who look at these things all day long and all are human, understand the TOS a little differently, etc. A different reviewer might have shut this pic down.

While it is not a marketing issue, per se, it is a lesson for salespeople: when dealing with a very large organization, one "NO" is not the end of the world. Go in to the company another way and you may very well get a "YES". Having managed sales teams that sold to behemoth companies, I used to stress this fact all of the time.

I reported a Syrian video in which bloody gory torture was shown. Trust me it wasn't for weak heart people. I reported it and after 6 hours I got the update NO it won't be removed. So it means that that torture video in which people were beaten to death was alright according to facebook policies
Then same day I reported a beheading video in which a woman was shown hands tied to the back and a guy does his job and separates the head from the body. After about 8-10 hours I got the update No it won't be removed. I was really surprised so I tried to search that video again but i came to know that the beheading video was actually deleted but they by mistake gave me the message that it won't be removed.
Also I think facebook has hired local people for moderating local pages and groups. Their censorship varies from region to region.
