OP is wasting his time, because at that pay he will only get bad writers and then he will be piss...
Double the money and maybe then you get someone. I can do it for 6$ but not less.

Reason for this is that when i write i spend my time on searching and analyzing, then i write article for me, after that i edit and fix article with my gramma tools, after that i reread and reedit article and only after that my article is high quality.

Quality writers do not deserve only 2 usd per 500 words. Usually, we get what we pay for.

Your rate isn't reasonable, even for the ESL students from India that work on this forum... Just the fact that you said that you wanted "quality" writers at this rate is laughable. I'm not laughing though. It's not funny offering slave wages for long term work. I don't know why writers on this forum can't "vote out" people like you --- you certainly don't deserve ANY content at that rate. What you'll get will hardly qualify as content if anyone is stupid or desperate enough to take you up on this farce of an offer.

On behalf of quality writers on DP, you're a jerk and you should stop asking for our services, especially when you're paying cents on the dollar.

I earn 07 per word freelancing in Philly and THATS too low. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

I think this guy is a middleman. He looks for high quality clients that pays him between $5 to $10 per article, and hire people for $2/500 words rate. So he makes between $3 to $8 profit by doing nothing.

I actually have an idea for that. Not sure if anyone else has suggested it before, but a price filter should be added to this section, esp. to the Buying gigs. This will make it possible to filter out uber-stingy offers like this and navigate through only the worthy ones. I am not sure about the technical feasibility of this feature and don’t know how much the admin/staff/mods here will consider it seriously. Moreover, Shawn (@digitalpoint) is still not back, so I don’t see any technical changes happening till then. But this idea can nonetheless be included in his to-do list.
Since DP is a global and free marketplace anyone and everyone can access, I personally don’t think “voting out” the cheapskates is really possible, but a price filter can at least keep the scumbags apart.

I'm genuinely curious and this question goes out to all employers who seek content at this price.

Have you ever actually had any luck with content at this price?

Do you know how you can tell you're reading a nutcases profile on a dating profile? They include strict requirements and tell you not to message them under certain guidelines. Why? Usually it's because they have a lot of experience dealing with the items mentioned.

Now, this translates well into freelancing as well. Every single low budget employer I see mentions strict requirements and always has things such as must deliver on time, must be readable, must not be spun, etc.

Hiring the exact same kind of audience over and over and expecting different results is how Einstein would say, the definition of insanity.

So I guess my question is, has anyone who hires writers at this price honestly had good results come out of it? I see the exact same people who keep coming back frustrated because of bad experiences who are back on the hunt for .50c writers. Plus, whenever I ask for the website that the work will be published on, it's filled with generic articles that are usually hard to read or just badly written. The site layouts are usually done via cheap Wordpress themes or free themes (which are oh so good).

I just honestly have a really hard time understanding the people who sustain mediocrity and keep expecting anything more. Maybe I'm just not seeing the full picture.

Someone will "write" for low end buyers. The content that is produced will most likely will not be usable and if the buyer does use it, the person is certainly no competition of mine.

Sure, low end buyers are annoying. They have flooded many resources where higher paying offers were once abundant. But, like it or not, these low end buyers are here to stay. It's not DP's responsibility to filter or eliminate low end buyers. It's an open community. These people have as much right to be here as everyone else. The only thing the rest of us can do is apply our own filtering system. Correspond with those who have offers that interest us and ignore those that don't.

The low end buyers weed themselves out in the end.

This is a trend that I have noticed on DP. When you get a gig, the person will always mention that you get paid ONLY when client (read:THIRD PARTY!!!) approves; this means that most are middlemen who pass on your work to their clients, rake in the good money and then pay you peanuts.

Those selling services at such rates are the ones watering down this industry. It is so sad that in order to outbid each other, writers are stooping so low such that such offers are placed on the table; at one time, such offers were unthinkable and unacceptable.

And you are ready to offer all of this at $2 per 500 words!!!??? :O
Just curious ........ what do you pay your "huge" team of writers if you yourself charge a mere $2 for 500 words??? And if I MAY factor in conversion rates and transfer fees/deductions, it appalls even to think of what a 500-words article amounts to after that.
