A new prayer for today's kids

Guys, probably everybody knows the stardard thanksgiving prayer, right? We know it since we were kids. However, since times have changed I think it is time to teach our kids to a new thanksgiving prayer.

    Dear Google, Father of userkind,
    Forgive our foolish search queries!
We’re slaves to the visual overload
We must rush our prayer because
HALO’s next game round will start soon. But Google, we’d like to spend a few minutes more with you
To really find some thankful quotes for what I’m thankful forFor our new Alienware, our Samsung wearable, the new bend-free iPhone,
our Facebook friends, Verizon, an exoskeleton suit
We’re thankful right now to be surrounded by those drones
Whose purpose is to take more selfies on our behalf than
we’ll ever possibly make on our own.Thankful Google, that You’ve blessed our search beyond measure
Thankful that in our PCs live life’s greatest treasure – GeForce graphics.
That You, dear Larry Page, reside in that Cloud space
And we’re ever so grateful for Your unending precious search resultsSo please, cloudy Google, bless this machine Walmart’s provided
And bless each and every person in my G+ circles.
    Amen!

PS: I created this thread for fun only. I am true Christian as well, so please don't take this seriously. However, hope you'll laugh for a bit.

Haha, brilliant piece of work!:D Never know though …..... the way cyberspace is invading human life, this might be a reality in time to come!:)

On a serious note, seeing today's kids glued to their laptops and smartphones, I think we should teach them this -

Personally, I would like to see a schism in Google in which a dedicated sect of Google programmers spin off to form a new search engine company in direct competition with the original. It is way overdue.

Glad you like it. I read it almost a dozens of times, but still laughing each time :D

BTW I forgot to mention that this is not my work. I don't want to get all the credits for it. I found it here: http://softchamp.com/news/happy-thanksgiving/

That's funny because my impression is that Facebook has seen its best days already. New young Internet users (high school and college kids) have dropped FB in favor of Instagram, Snapchat, etc. But, predicting the future has never really been my forte, anyway. :)

Thanks, man! I was trying to find a similar "geeky poem" in the Internet without any success. Have you ever read some thing similar? I don't why, but I'm hungry for such art :D

I have some geeky Christmas jokes, songs, etc. on my IT joke blog (see my signature) and will be adding a few more in the days ahead. I do not know who originally wrote them, but they have been passed around the Internet for years. Here is one that I like:

    WEB ADDICTION HOLIDAY SING ALONG!
(Sung to the tune of "Winter Wonderland")
    Doorbell rings, I'm not list'nin',
From my mouth, drool is glist'nin',
    I'm happy -- although
My boss let me go --
    Happily addicted to the Web.

All night long, I sit clicking,
    Unaware time is ticking,
    There's beard on my cheek,
    Same clothes for a week,
    Happily addicted to the Web!

Friends come by; they shake me, Saying, "Yo, man!
Don't you know tonight's the senior prom?"
    With a listless shrug, I mutter "No, man;
    I just discovered laugh-a-lot-dot-com!"
    I don't phone, don't send faxes,
Don't go out, don't pay taxes,
    Who cares if someday
    They drag me away?
I'm happily addicted to the Web!
Happ-ilyyyyy, ad-dict-eeeed to the Weeeeeb!!! (Yeah!)

Not exactly 'geeky poems' but I've posted a link in another thread that lists some unusual places where you can definitely find some 'inspiration' though - http://blog.hubspot.com/marketing/copywriting-inspiration-list. Anyway, will keep you posted whenever I come across any 'geeky poems'. BTW, keep up your hunger for this type of art. It's surely gonna take you someplace.:)

Haha, that was fun! Thanks @jrbiz.
