package from china arrives after a year...

I got a note from the post office that said I had a registered package.
Since I keep a running tab on my mail-orders, all 3 packages last week
were accounted for, and I did not feel like waiting in line for unknown...

So I started to looking up the tracking number on usps.com, got no-where
as nothing come up on their system, so I turned to the internet to
search for mail codes such as "RB", which come back as china post...
So I found a site that searches for International mail, and there it was....
it had a date of 2-11-2015 and was sent through china post...

I did order some things from china back in 2015, however, from what
i remember, at least one item never come, and I was refunded....

like I said, I did not pick it up today, so now I have an idea
what it may be, but still not sure until i pick up the package....

I thought this was interesting as I have never had mail
arrive a year after it was mailed off, so I can not imagine
where this package has been all this time, maybe hanging
out in customs or something, can not think of any other reasons...

it can take 45-90 days to get certain products from overseas....
But I gave up around the 90 day mark when it still did not arrive,
so the company went ahead and gave a refund. They were more then
happy to issue refund, they cant afford to lose their ability to accept credit
cards due to complaints of non-arrival of products to the US...

Haha. I am interested, though, what you have bought. If it's not a secret.

Since I have yet to pick up the package. I suspect it maybe 2 cartons of
cigarettes that never come last year. I did order other things, but the only
thing I know for sure that never arrived and sticks to me was the cigarettes...

Well, cool. :D Are you going to pay for them as you got refunded but still received the package? Or you're jusf getting them free?

I am not going to chase them down and say "your pkg has arrived..."
however, if they are monitoring tracking, and contact me concerning
payment, then sure, however since I have not seen the package yet,
then I have no idea what condition the package is in. I have nothing
against not paying for what I get, so if they do not contact me, then so be it.

at this point; I am just assuming it is the cigarettes.
The only thing I know for sure is that the tracking is from china..

Unbelievable. On the other hand I got stuff from China I bought on ebay in like 5 days and I only paid a fraction of what I could've paid had I bought it here.

5 days from china would be unbelievable...
seeing that it can take 3-5 days for a piece of
non-rush mail to get from one side to the other side of the us.

too get your order within 5 days from china...

1: the company is located at the airport...
2: china dude throws order on plane within mere minutes of order...
3: china plane takes off within min of dude throwing package on plain.
4: Dont forget, china & US had to make deals, and bribes so that your
package could clear customs within just mere minutes....
5: USPS had to drive 125 MPH to get your package to the
nearest USPS hub. The next day, the local USPS driver had
to drive 90 MPH to get the package to your door...
    (all within just 5 days...)

Are you starting to see the lengthy process?
I do not think many will claim they got their
package from china in just 5 days....

No doubt it was fast. 4-50 business days is a normal delivery time from China. A few years ago I was visiting Russia and needed something sent to me from the US. The UPS delivered it in 4 days. China isn't that much farther. As long as it clears the customs fast everything else is a breeze.

maybe thats why i never got my cigarettes any sooner then 45 days...
those damn custom people were smoking them up....

I make my own now, so I do not need to order from china anymore...
not only does china steal from the US, apparently they are doing
weird things with the mail, or customs been on lunch break for a year...

I remember about six or seven years ago, we were manually shipping about 30 domestic U.S. orders per day in small packages through the post office. We would deliver the day's shipment in a standard USPS plastic tub. One summer day In late July, apparently the USPS lost the entire day's shipment and about 2 weeks later, we started getting complaint after complaint that the shipments were not received all over the U.S. We ended up re-shipping all of the orders, at no charge, over the next week or two. About four months later, we started hearing from our customers that the original shipment had just been delivered and asking what should they do with the extra products. We told them to keep the extra products as our gift. No Customs, weather or any such issues. Just the USPS doing its thing.

I have also had nightmare after nightmare getting shipments through various Customs agencies. In Italy, one time, it took three months for our shipment to a customer there to get through their Customs. Eventually, we stopped taking International orders as we only got a few and it was never worth the extra effort and stress.

Anyway, your shipment could have been misplaced anywhere along its journey and it is difficult to really know where it happened.

If it is the cigarettes as I suspect, then I may just return the package, maybe it will take another year to get back...
I do not need their smokes now since I make my own for pennies on the dollar, or I could take, and give to a friend...
either way, it is not like I need them, and it was because of them that I started to look into making my own...
and once I started making my own smokes from home, and started saving $$ - I never looked back....

I will update the thread as soon as I find out exactly what the mystery
package maybe, however, I will not be headed over that way until Tuesday....

Is this the home-made cigarettes you're talking about?

not quite, however, I am starting to wonder where I can order them from....
and I think it is safe to say, probably a bit stronger then home made...
I may pass out on the first puff, probably not a bad thing...

Use newspapers and a pipe tobacco.

PS not endorsing smoking here or anything like that. Just funny to see that they are actually using newspapers to make cigarettes.

Had a same kind of problem a few years back. I ordered a product from China and it arrived 8 months later.
Needless to say I didn`t order anything that was outside the EU from that point on.
I ordered a game from the UK and it arrived in 2 days and it took 8 months for the package from China. Did they deliver it on foot?

No, it's not safe. Don't ever use it. I am pretty sure in some countries they use plain tobacco. It doesn't stay lit very well. But, hey, it's cheap. Or maybe even free.
