Hi, I am creating a new store with shopify to sell cheap stuff of Aliexpress using the free shipping but I am afraid of the complains of the buyers because the shipping takes long time. How do you deal with that problems? How can avoid that people talk bad things of my brand. I am starting with less budget and living outside the US, that is the reason that I am interesting selling with Free Shipping. Many thanks!

My dear, the very first thing is Ali Express holds an honesty level, even if you know, Ali baba has a term that define, you can create a dispute if the product you received was not as it was mentioned on the site in terms of quality, color or shape or else. I think in the present era Ali Express product of Ali Baba is the most secure platform for trading but if and only if you know how to use that platform, and believe me it is very hard to learn Ali baba wholly.

Aliexpress is certainly far from being the most secure platform for trading. Just have a look at these bad reviews on Aliexpress:
    https://www.sitejabber.com/reviews/www.aliexpress.com
    https://www.influenster.com/reviews/aliexpresscom
    www.resellerratings.com/store/AliExpress
    https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.aliexpress.com
    https://aliexpress.pissedconsumer.com/
Do you really want to base your business on buying from suppliers on a site that has such a bad reputation?
Do you really know how difficult it is to get a dispute settled? Read some of the reviews and see what problems people have when dealing with suppliers on Aliexpress.

It is possible to safely source products from China, but I would not recommend that site.

Dear if you are non-technical in any area of the field it will increase chances of getting dodged. Before starting trading with Ali baba you must need to understand the system, it is not a small chunk, in fact it is a huge system, people just go there to try their luck in trading with Ali baba, I have talked to some sincere friends working in a factory of Ali baba and after the conversation ended, she told me not to start this business because you have no idea of that.
If you have no idea of how to work with a system then facebook will also be a cheat and people will start writing on how facebook cheat people.

Alibaba holds page rank of 7 out of 10
    Domain Authority 74
    Page Authority 70
    Global Alexa rank 88
Which simply means that it comes in 88th spot out of the billions of sites over the internet. I wonder what you are talking about.

I can plainly outright I'm going reject Dropshipping via Shopify,
First thumb rule of E-Commerce is: Freaking fast delivery, more fast your deliver the product to your customer, At the same speed customer Comeback to your store.

Returning customers are your profit. Not the one you first sold.

It's better to find a dropshippers in your country than going with Aliexpress, unless you are from China.

Anyway, there no harm in trying. But dont burn your money on FB ads.

    Good luck and cheers.

Sorry, but your comments show that you don't know anything about me. I suggest you have a look at my thread: Ask Me Anything About Product Sourcing and Importing where you will see that I am very experienced in both exporting and importing. I am registered as a seller on Alibaba, so I know exactly how their system works. You seem to be confusing Alibaba with their retail offshoot Aliexpress.

If you don't know what I'm talking about, just look at the sites I linked to in the post you replied to, where you will find thousands of complaints from people who have been scammed by suppliers on Aliexpress. That's what I'm talking about.

I began exporting to China and other Asia/Pacific countries in 1978. I then began importing from China and several other countries in 1987. I sold franchises of my importing business in four countries and taught all my franchisees how to safely source products from China and none of them has ever been scammed.

There are some great suppliers on Alibaba, but most people have no idea how to even find out how to work out which of the thousands claiming to be manufacturers really are. They believe what they read on the suppliers' sales pages, mistakenly thinking that things like Onsite Inspection, or Gold Supplier badges mean that the supplier is reliable or trustworthy.

Anyone who wants answers from a very experienced importer about how to safely source products using Alibaba or any other B2B site, can ask questions on my Ask Me Anything thread. (See link above.)

Pretty strange, will let you know why later on.
The first thing is, my seniors always used to taught me, do not see who is talking, see what he/she is talking. So it doesn't matter you own 3 years of experience or 30 years.
Secondly, I just read the whole argument and got stunt/strange after reading the 3rd and the 4th paragraph where you have just acknowledged my point of argument. that was exactly the point what I was trying to make.
Lastly, yes it makes me feel you have a very well experience in importing/exporting from china, and how to trace which is the actual gold supplier and who is the actual manufacturer, so I thought it can make me learn lots of things. A few months ago I was in contact with some suppliers/traders and manufacturers in guangzhou but didn't sign any trading contract just because of filtering whether the supplier is trustworthy or not and how to process dispute in case of a false product or late delivery.

If you are planning to build a succesful and secure business it is really necessary to have an agent in China who would control every package BEFORE it is shipped. There are plenty of people willing to do the job out there (if it's fairly paid). It's the only way to avoid long suing processes and frustrated clients.
