The UK is a pretty solid and safe place however it's not without it's problems like anywhere, the grass is always greener ;) I went to New Zealand though for 6 months, adore the place and would like to move to there one day. However I like the idea of checking out New York for a bit while I'm young, totally depends on where my business takes me :)

Sometimes all you may need to do is to relocate to another part of the country.

NYC is a great place to visit with plenty of things to do, etc. Of course, nothing makes me happier than leaving NYC after a business trip because it is a crowded, hectic, and dirty place simply due to the population that works and lives there. A lot of young people find jobs there and work for a year or two or three and have a blast, so it is definitely worth a stop along your way. FYI, I will be there for a few days in mid-January for a business conference and while I will enjoy the restaurants and nightlife, I am sure that I will also be glad to be heading home when it is over.

I lived and worked in the U.S. for 14 months. I was in Los Angeles. (North Hollywood) The weather was amazing, not far from the Pacific ocean, nice beaches, lots of cool cafes and boutiques. Forget NYC, it's just a big urban jungle with way too much traffic and angry aggressive cabbies. If you don't mind seeing drunks passed out on the sidewalk and don't have a problem getting yelled at when trying to cross the street, then NYC is for you.

@Spoiltdiva I'll have to go for a visit first and see what it's like :) I really don't like people haha and crowded places would be horrible but for some reason I just really like the idea of new york, I think just being in the heart of where things are happening... Who knows

I was last in NYC this summer and you know what, Uber and Lyft have really changed the landscape there. The yellow cabs seem to be much more service oriented and less nasty than they used to be. They are feeling the competition, of course. But you are right, NYC is a noisy, smelly, and overall nasty place. Great restaurants and entertainment, of course.

Not to burst anyone's bubble but I believe that Hugh Hefner sold the former Playboy mansion to a neighbor. So, it really no longer exists.

US in my opinion is still the best country to live in. I just visited a country in south america a third world place. I had to always watch my back as safety and robbery where a Big issue! At least in general in the US in most parts that is not a concern.

USA! I've lived here all my life and I love it, the diverse culture is like no where else. The freedom we have was fought for and we are still allowed to fight for more.

It says you're from LA. The cost of living is outrageous there. I wouldn't want to live in a state where I had to pay 3-4x more, for pretty much everything, unless a business was holding me there.

I've traveled to around a dozen countries and it seems like there are a lot more similarities between all countries than you would think. Big cities are big cities, rural country areas look and feel like rural country areas from other countries. I think the US is good, because there's so much variety (expensive big cities with lots to do, quiet rural areas that have very low cost-of-living, cold weather, warm weather, mountains, beaches, and everything in between). But most any place can be enjoyable if you appreciate the culture, understand the local language and customs, and have friends and loved ones to spend your time with. Also job availability can be a big concern for people who have traditional career fields, but that often goes to more of a city or rural issue more than what country you're in.
