I've heard it mentioned a lot, but what the heck is digg?

On a side note, how exactly do you get listed in dmoz, as I've tried several times but don't really even know how to submit my site to dmoz.

Digg.com is a great way to get your 12 minutes of fame. If you submit a story/page to Digg.com and others find it interesting and it gets Dugg you will get a huge surge in traffic.. for a few days... Depending on how many people 'Dugg' your story, and how interesting it was, you will probably get 100 visitors per day from Digg for months.
What is more valuable though, is the backlinks and publicity that hitting it big can create..

Can you submit your site, or stories about your site more than once?

Yes, but other diggers can see what you've submitted - if they see you submitting your own stuff over and over they will view it as 'spam' and 'bury' your submissions..
    Diggers are a tough crowd..

You mean if you submit the same stuff, or different stuff, but relating to the same site? For example, if I submit two things:

    new story on lucid dreaming
    http://www.Lucidly.com

    new story on astral projection
    http://www.Lucidly.com

Would they mark that as spam?

Yes. The idea is that you digg stories you find on the net, not your own material.
