I was stunned yesterday to learn that there were different versions of Jesus.
I thought all the different Christian churches worshipped the same guy but, apparently, in America they have completely different Jesuses.

I am in America and am not sure what you are referring to. Certainly, I have seen many different depictions of what Jesus might look like, but I have never heard of a Christian faith that worshipped a Jesus other than the one in the Bible?

I have a client who is a successful business woman. A circus had rolled into her town and I phoned her up and asked her if she'd like to go see the show with me. She said in all seriousness, "What's a circus?" It was then and there that I realized that she belonged in the circus as one of the clowns!
Needless to say, I was stunned.

Not just in the US. Take Jehovah's witnesses, Mormons, Eastern / Western Orthodox churches, Protestants their view of Jesus vary to some degree. Sometimes quite significantly.

Is it their view of Jesus or their interpretation of the Bible and its teachings? Do they disagree on anything "major" when it comes to Jesus, himself? @sarahk made the comment that it was "different" Jesus-es and I still do not understand that.

No, it's quite major. As an example, mormons believe that Satan was the brother of Jesus at one point, till he fell. JW's do not believe Jesus was God, which is completely contrary to the protestant's view.

Okay, but it is still the "same" Jesus that they are referring to. They have just added some differences in their interpretation of what he was and/or who he was related to. Jews, of course, consider Jesus to be a great Prophet, but not a God, either. But it is the "same" Jesus that they are referring to. I was wondering if there was a religion in the U.S. who says that Jesus is not the one described in the Bible, but someone else entirely.

Getting back to the OP's topic, I am always stunned to learn that some supposed political pundits/expert commentators still do not realize that Nazism and Fascism are derivatives of socialism and not conservatism. These ignoramuses try to apply these leftist ideologies to conservatives all of the time.

I am stunned that @Spoiltdiva is just now learning of the English speaking tendency of reducing introduced foreign multi-syllable behemoths to "new" single syllable "English" words usually requiring context to determine their meanings.

Modded for example can mean "moderated", "modified", "modulated", and so on depending upon context.

Where to begin... I'm stunned that there are people out there who believe vaccines cause autism. That people don't know that vaccines are perfectly safe (there is no statistic significance in the worst possible side-effects, which only affects less than 0.1% of the vaccinated population).

(I could make more posts, but I'll just add to this one...)
I can't believe people (especially US citizens) don't understand socialism - at all. I live in Norway, often awarded "the best country to live in", or at least in the top 5 / 10 when UN and others score different "best place to live" - and we're a democratic, socalist society, with free healthcare, schools and so on. We're also one of the wealthiest, if not the wealthiest country per capita in the world - and for some reason, especially US citizens still believe their way of living, or politics, are the only "correct" way. *Shakes head in disbelief*

I can't believe people believe in things that cannot be proven - in any way. That they say that "belief" is just as valid as scientifc theories or actual proof. I can't wrap my head round that.

I was stunned to discover that by delaying my daughter's vaccinations (because of pre-existing health conditions) that I was, therefore, an anti-vaxxer.

@PoPSiCLe some scientists firmly believe in global warming with no actual data to prove it, just theories, and yet they have convinced the governments of multiple counties that indeed they should heed their warnings. Would you also shake your head in disbelief at that?
