Generating traffic from Pinterest: is it like a long tail strategy?

I'm posting on lots of group boards but I'm getting just a few saves and low clicks.
Is the big idea to post enough pins so that the accumulation of average saves per pin end up generating traffic?

 

Yeah pretty much. You also have to optimize your pins for the search engine, pin good content that people want to share and be consistent. Furthermore it is enough if one of your pins get viral to give you 1000s of clicks. Pinterest is definitely for the long term, so don't be frustrated. Keep to these simple tips and your account will grow fast:

• have great pins that are optimized
• use rich pins
• pin every day
• repin dozens of pins per day
• join A LOT of group boards
• create 2 niche specific boards per week
• optimize your profile
• make a business account to track your results
• use CTA in your Pins
• Don't rely on Pinterest alone
