Ive started my first blog on General property DIY as this is my profession my question is it a good idea to include my food recipes and home brew wine in this topic or niche or will this end up begin to broad a topic and will it effect my ranking as time goes on

    Thank You

People reading your blog for DIY property repair or enhancement are not likely looking for favorite food recipes or wine brewing tips. However, if the vast majority of your posts are about DIY repairs, then occasionally going off-topic with recipes or brewing posts is probably okay, IMO.

I think it also depends on your ambitions for the site.

If you want to share knowledge and earn a bit of extra cash then put them together but use categories and tags to help keep them apart. Readers will enjoy getting a better sense of who you are and what matters to you.

If you want to create a comprehensive resource with professionally written content and images/video that earns enough to replace your day job then you might be better to keep them apart.
