eCommerce is on a desktop platform, while mobile commerce is on a mobile platform. Right?
There are more differences than that don't you think? Give your valuable suggestions.

They're the same thing. eCommerce stands for electronic commerce. I don't think there is a mobile commerce. You can do ecommerce on any device.

What there is no mobile commerce? That's the trend today and it's upscaling the eCommerce and shopping experience.

Larry is correct. There is no difference. There may have been more of a difference in the past, slightly, when there was more of a need for specific native-to-mobile apps for shopping and such. However, web technology has changed a lot, and with responsive websites that can be easily viewed on mobile devices, and "apps" that are based on the "web stack" (HTML, CSS, Javascript) there essentially is no difference now between the desktop e-commerce experience and the mobile e-commerce experience. They have merged to the point where they are just slightly different versions of the same thing.

Mobile commerce is a type of eCommerce or classification of eCommerce (based on the technology). The simple definition is: buying and selling the goods and services over a mobile platform.

There is no term like mobile commerce but yes we can say that any ecommerce platform optimized for mobile platform where you can make all transaction related with your store. As the same site/app can be tablet optimized we can't say it tablet commerce :)

    Hello Jessica,

Both of these terms have different meanings though both aim at making consumer lives easier. To better understand the differences between ecommerce and M-commerce are:
    • Electronic Commerce refers to the activities of buying and selling products and services with the use of electronic systems such as the internet.
    • Mobile Commerce is a subset of ecommerce that refers to the process of buying and selling products and services with the use of internet/cellular data via wireless handheld devices.
    • Devices used in ecommerce are Computers and, laptops.
    • Wireless handheld devices such as cell phones, iPads, tablets are used in case of mobile commerce.
This is the basic difference between the two terms. I hope this may help you :)

I agree with everyone else. Mobile commerce would just be doing ecommerce on your phone, which most of it is done on already. No real difference. In fact, you should going mobile first with your store nowadays anyway.
