What is the real way to optimize image titles??

Hey guys, I had asked this question in the past on different forums and seems I still can't
get it right. What is the best or real way to fill out image fields for SEO purposes?

    My research has shown this

1] Filename - reflect what the image is about and use hyphens
Make the Title and Alt tags different –Use keyphrase in both
2] Title tag - Think of the words someone would search for if they wanted to find an image like yours.
3] Alt - Describes what's in the image and never use "image of" or "picture of".
A brief name for or description of the image

No need to use caption or description fields anymore.

Is all of the above correct? Whether or not, using the first image on NP's blog as an example

    https://neilpatel.com/blog/digital-marketing-opportunity/

What would be the best way to optimize this image please? All I am seeing in the Inspect Element is:

    <img width="700" height="420" src="https://neilpatel.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Search-Beyond-Search-The-Biggest-Opportunity-in-Digital-Marketing-1.jpg" alt="" class="wp-image-171976" srcset="https://neilpatel.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Search-Beyond-Search-The-Biggest-Opportunity-in-Digital-Marketing-1.jpg 700w, https://neilpatel.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/11/Search-Beyond-Search-The-Biggest-Opportunity-in-Digital-Marketing-1-350x210.jpg 350w" sizes="(max-width: 700px) 100vw, 700px" loading="eager" fetchpriority="high">

Ok let's use that image in question as an example, what would be the info needed for that specific image please so I can get a handle on this? I am totally surprised that Neil who is a master popular blogger does not have any of the info mentioned on his images, does that mean that title, alt, caption and description are no longer an SEO requirement?

You want to change the file name to include the main keyword. Example of a poor file name would be "stock-image0129382.jpeg", instead make it keyword.jpeg

Use the keyword in the title tag and variations/lsi keywords in alt tag and descriptive. No need to use the other description fields. Just file name/title/alt

Well, for a text based image such as this, all I can seem to think of:

    Filename: virus-removal-service-words

title - computer virus removal services

Alt - Different types of computer virus words used in virus removal services

how might I make those 3 fields better please?

I would never "think" about this. Such decisions require the hard data supplied by the Google database when researching keywords.

Sorry guys, I should have stated the entire issue. I am referring to optimizing the image in Wordpress so first I need the proper file URL before importing into Wordpress Media folder.

Searching and searching the net on this topic I have found this tutorial video and at the 5.16 mark I am copying his format in filling out only the title and alt info in the same fashion:

First and foremost I am not understanding the URL part so let's address this first please.

Since my image is in the Wordpress media folder, this is what is generically there right now [see image below]

so the file URL right now is "spyware" and I am asking if that file URL should be changed to
    pcandnetservices.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/new-york/queens/virus-removal-services.jpg?

I will of course change the filename from "spyware" to "new-york-queens-virus-removal-services.jpg" then re-import.

It all begins with a rather intensive keyword research, where you decide on which keyword phrases are of interest, which are attainable in the short-term, and which are attainable in the long-term. When that is complete, you create pages for these keywords, and optimize images on those pages accordingly. But the URL is just one part of this, though perhaps the most important part. Optimizing the image properties tab, is something overlooked by most SEOs.

I appreciate the advice/help given here guys but what I need is to see how "you" would write the filename, title and Alt for the image I posted. This way I can use it as a template on how to write for my other images, that is the help I need which I cannot find on any forum on the net.

I just don't have a couple of hours to spare, and do the necessary keyword research to determine that.

Sorry for any misunderstanding, I wasn't referring to "you' personally, was just a general statement for anyone.

Oh I see, didn't realize that. I had thought it would mainly be a matter of looking at the image with the intended kw being "virus removal service" and one would know what to write in each of those 3 fields.

On one hand, that is true. But the issue is much more complex than that. To be the most effective, you must THOROUGHLY investigate your potential market..

You can say, "oh, I want X keyword phrase." But your website SEO, inbound links determine how well your site can rank. You may not currently be able to attain your preferred keywords. In that case, you would not first vie for your preferred keywords. So you want to create a plan, what you can rank for in the short-term, and what will take some time. That is how you then proceed with optimizing your site.

It's pretty straightforward how to do it and seems like your overthinking it. There's far more important factors to focus on than a perfectly optimized image. Highly doubt the image optimization will be the deciding factor for outranking your competition. 80/20 rule

You should add the keyword in your image. For example <img alt="" src="" />

Yes you are correct, keywords are taken place at the image filename, title tag, and in an alt tag.
