I'd call it gray hat if executed properly, but definitely black hat according to Google guidelines.

It used to be very common but if not done correctly, it could get you bannned from Google. Google has gotten smarter and smarter and can smell tricks. In my opinion, the rish outweighs the reward. Unfortunately
, Google still controls the world and if you get the site or all sites banned, the domains are worthless.

It is definitely against Google's guidelines. They don't want you to rank for free right? Why would they when they make over $40 billion from ad revenue.
    Don't go there @seoninja121, don't mess with a giant.

PBN's have been penalized by Google in the past.

PBN's are bad news. They are an old spammy tactic, like link wheels, that are more likely to see you have to burn your site and start again than have any long term gain. Even affiliate marketing guru Spencer Hawes had 10 sites trashed over PBNs and if he can't hide that footprint, neither can you. Please read this: Avoid PBN Services

Yes, it is a black hat SEO technique and also, those sites don't contain proper content and appear similar to each other.

Google selectively penalizes PBN and the money you looses with buying links on them will be heavy.

A Private Blog Network (PBN) is a network of authoritative websites used to build links to your money website(s) for the purpose of ranking higher in the Google search engine. A money website is the website you intend on ranking i.e. the one that actually makes money.

Rather than create a new topic, I'll raise this one. OK?
And the question is the following. Does reverse DNS work as a security for PBN sites? How to install on hosting if there is no programmer?

In my opinion, PBNs clearly fall within the category of black hat SEO because of their manipulative and deceptive tactics. Websites that use PBNs are at high risk of penalties from search engines, which can range from lower rankings to complete de-indexing, potentially having serious consequences for traffic and online visibility. PBNs often involve deceptive practices, such as hiding the ownership of the network of sites, using expired domains with existing backlink profiles, and creating low-quality content to maintain the appearance of authentic websites.

Reverse DNS does not work as protection for PBN sites. Instead, DNS is mainly used for verifying the authenticity of an IP address, primarily in email delivery and preventing spam.
Typically, hosting can be installed using the control panel provided by your hosting provider. Contact support if needed.

PBN are often associated with black hat SEO due to their use in artificially boosting search rankings. While some argue they can be used ethically, the practice is generally considered risky and may result in penalties from search engines.

Private Blog Networks (PBNs) are a controversial topic in the SEO world, with some considering them a black hat technique and others using them as a legitimate way to build authority and link equity. In essence, a PBN is a network of blogs that are created and linked together to artificially inflate the ranking of a primary website. While some PBNs may be used in a white hat manner, others are often associated with spammy tactics and can be considered a black hat technique. However, it's worth noting that Google's guidelines explicitly state that using private blog networks to manipulate PageRank is against their terms of service.

It's a black hat SEO. We should use it carefully. Because my previous site involving ribosome sequencing was been punished due to black hat SEO usage

These are specifically used to build backlinks to a primary website, thereby increasing its search engine rankings. These networks are often considered black hat seo tactics because they manipulate search engine algorithms. However, when used with care and proper practice they can be used as a powerful tool. There are niches you can't get into without PBNs, no matter how you look at it. If you have a white niche, you probably don't need PBNs. Casinos and other highly competitive niches can hardly exist today without PBNs. But you do need to know how to build and use them. I've seen good instruction on this at Rush analytics - they specialize in providing tools for building PBNs.

This approach used to be very popular, but if done incorrectly, it could lead to being banned by Google. Nowadays, Google has become increasingly smarter and can easily detect tricks. In my opinion, the risks far outweigh the rewards. Unfortunately, Google still dominates the online world, and if your website or domain gets banned, its value will be lost.
