    Does submitting a site to say 100+ social bookmarking site help in terms of getting quality traffic?

    I know it might help get a bit of PR advantage but what I want to know is whether it will bring the benefit of direct traffic?

    yup, it brings a lot of traffic.. it works for me , i didnt submit my site in 100+, but just a few one which are most popular... and getting 10-30 unique visitor from every bookmarking site daily...

    Yes they indicate quality traffic, but i think the SEs provide visitors with the highest conversion rate. The social bookmark systems have positive effect on SERP, so using them is a great benefit.

    It is interesting that people consider 10-30 uniques daily something worthy, which usually isn't if your website doesn't sell cars :D

    Social bookmarking usually brings traffic but not adsense clicks. Some social bookmarking websites (digg) could bring your websites some links which is excellent. Some other social bookmarking websites brought worthless traffic to one of my websites.

    How come it's so good? My submission to many bookmarks sites brings me less 2 visitors per day. Some big bookmark sites bring me 5 per day.

    If you find the right social/bookmarking network and you have just the right niche with a bit of effort you can get so much traffic your server will crash. I had a thread somewhere on DP with screenshots and everything, when i did my experiment.

    And yes, of course. Traffic from these sites is good and may bring you more long-term users.

    Social bookmarking sites are good, Digg is probably the best, I'd say around 90% of traffic comes from digg after an experiments I did, but as someone said in this thread, forget about clicks... they just come to read the story and thats it. I get a few clicks and they are usually good ones ($1-$2), but very very rarely.

    Social bookmarketing sites have helped me gain some traffic. The quality of the traffic will depend on your sites topic and also how sticky and good looking your site is.

    I only use social bookmarks for entertainment site.
    The users are personal users.
    If u're planning on sites like business, marketing etc, traffic is quite useless.

    I do get good traffic for my joke site. :)

    You are earning a good amount for the few visitors you are getting from the bookmarking sites. I wouldn't call 8-22 visitors much though if you have a big site that will hardly show up in your traffics stats. lol
