Two cities I haven't seen mentioned so far at Copenhagen and Singapore.

They both benefit from being trading hubs, which means good food, great night life, and diverse populations. They are both on the ocean, which is good for sports.

Singapore is more aligned with my taste in weather.

Preference in sequence: NYC, Hong Kong, Mumbai (Bombay), Singapore.

NYC is the most organized vibrant city I have found. Hong Kong too ir organized and vibrant but is too overly chinese for me. Singapore is beautiful and all but you can't do this or that (feels like you are in a boarding school). Heard Shanghai is pretty awesome too but I can't comment since I have not spent time there.

Bombay (hometown) - I grew up here and I know all the goods and bads - so really won't indulge.

I wouldn't trust Hong Kong any more. You could disappear into a Chinese labor camp, never to be seen again. Hell, you could be sentenced by a Chinese court to having your organs harvested and sold overseas for hard currency.

Anyone who stays in Hong Kong nowadays is just tempting fate.

And, of course, the same has been true of Shanghai for much longer.

Raleigh, NC is the best city in the world. A decent, midsize city with many cultural amenities, low crime, excellent schools, affordable housing prices, and decent enough weather.

NC is very bad during winter (Ice Storms) and half the state is dark during those days. I was in Durham on a project for couple of months - I found it dull and boring. But got opportunity to work with some genious java gurus.

RTP or Research Triangle Park is in neighboring Durham [the outskirts of the city]. As far as Durham goes, that is why I mentioned Raleigh not Raleigh-Durham. Raleigh is a much nicer city.

In the past three years we have had only one bad ice storm. So you lose a day, no big deal. Global warming is making Raleigh the hotspot of the south, so things have changed!

I highly doubt it - no ocean there! Freaking hot in summers - highs up to 45 C - yuck! Crazy foggy in winters - can't see beyond 2 feet, 100s of flight cancellations - dude you must be high to consider ND as best city ;) Any city that does not have a beach should be disqualified to be in this thread :p

Lol who told you that? Theres trash cans everywhere. Depends what part of London you go to though, the richer places are clean but most of London isnt rich and people dont care about what it looks like so they litter.
